Am I being messed with or was I caught up in an automated feature?

   I recently published a hub entitled, How to Choose and Pack a Survival Vest.
   
   The article was pulled due to duplicate content.  Supposedly the duplicate content was a portion of the article which I quoted on a forum, of which I placed a link to my hub in (proving it is a quote), which is one of the many forums popular I go to to place such backlinks to drive traffic to my hubs.
   
   The article was completely original content, found nowhere on hubpages or across the Internet, and contained completely original pictures.
   
   Is there an automated system feature that somehow thought my article was duplicate content despite the fact that I do this all of the time, or did someone report it as duplicate content without good cause?

   I might add that I checked the Hubpages TOS and it is not a violation to publish a hub and then place quotes of it on other sites with a backlink to your original content hub.  The TOS says that it can't be the other way around, which makes sense since if it were that there can be no copies made of your hub by others (in whole or part) everyone on hubpages would be reported for duplicate content.  Plus, it is industry standard to allow less than 50% of an article to be copied so long as it contains original commentary and a link back to the original article, otherwise people would never be able to quote anything and comment on it.  Also, all hubbers would be doing nothing but policing the Internet to make sure none of their articles were copied and we would get nothing written.
   
   So my question is...Because my hub was unpublished due to an error or misjudgement and not a violation, how will it work for me to republish it?  Will it then be looked at as duplicate content because it was unpublished eventhough all partial content out there CLEARLY contains a link to the original content on hubpages?  If so, who will be spending the time to rewrite that article?

   I think the automatic system did it. If you contact the hub admin, they will sort it for you.

      I contacted the Hub Team.  They sent me a reply informing me of what the supposed duplicate was, which is how I found out about it.  I replied to them, informing them of the situation.
      
      I am just impatient and would like the situation to be cleared up.  I really don't need this right now, so I am a bit worked up about it.  My apologies to all if I seem a bit uptight right now because I am.
      
      I simply want to know how this is going to work...whether or not I will have to rewrite the thing because of this error, or if it can be cleared up without anyone having to lose anymore time or money over it.  I also want the problem corrected so that it does not happen to anyone else and cost anyone else grief, money and time.
      
      I am waiting for a reply from the admin to know whether or not I should just go ahead and republish it, or if something needs to be done.

         You did the right thing, addressing the issue with HP. Try to be patient...Rome wasn't built in a day. I'm not meaning to be snide, just realistic. It would be so much nicer to just walk down the hall and say to an HP team member, "Hey, what gives?" And get an answer on the spot. But that's not the world we live in.
         
         From what you described, unless your external forum quote was 50% of your Hub, things ought to get squared away soon.
         
         BTW, I'm not the most patient person either, especially when other crap is going on in my life. But I do try to pick my battles wisely.

            Thanks Sally's Trove.  You are right!  I really ought to go do something else and worry about it tomorrow.  The quote was less than 50%, so I think things ought to be good unless there is some technical issues that arise from the mistake.
