The questions in the title, however I shall elaborate a little. What are peoples findings with regards to writing summaries, do they increase traffic? or do you use them as another area to use for your keywords?
Are there any other advantages to having a summary and how important in you humble or not so humble opinions are they?
Thanks for all and any responses
According to Market Samurai, summaries are the biz.
Keywords in url, title, summary and something else which escapes me at the moment (normal for me these days!) and your hub has a better chance of cracking whatever nut you wanted it to crack.
If it's any help, adding keyword rich summaries to hubs that were struggling a year ago, put them straight to page 1.
Yes, the summary is another place to place keywords and tags to help with ranking. It also gives you a unique opportunity to write a simple paragraph that entices the searcher.

Anyone noticed Hubs changes & limited summary characters permitted?Looks like Hub pages has made some more changes and now have reduced the amount of letters you can use in the summary of your hubs. is this good or bad?

Concerning summaries of hubs on your profile page, do you write a short one or just let the system?I have noticed a lot of writers who do not write a short summary on each hub, but just allow the system to pull from the first words of that particular hub. On the statistics page, if you do not...
