I have just joined and have published two hubs. I have no idea about monetization and Seo. Could anyone help? I can make more hubs, and will probably. This place is great. But it were better if it were more modern and user friendly.

Everything you need to know is in the Learning Centre (in the menu above, under your user name).

I checked those items. They were useful, but didn't give much idea how to make a really cool hub that earns money.

Monetization occurs when you sign up for the available programs and insert the codes in your HP account. Sign up for analytics for monitoring purposes. All promotional efforts is your responsibility and must stay within the TOS of the big 'G' and HP. You can get idea's to write Hubs from the 'Q + A' section of HP or reading other Hubs may inspire a new thought to write about. Earnings are dependent upon your promotional efforts to the public.

I would suggest using 'search' on Hubpages for that information. A treasure of information, advice and tips from other writers.

That is pretty much up to you.  There are a lot of different approaches.

Quite simply Wvidal, you need to be responsible for getting at least some (ideally all) of your traffic. You need to connect your HP page to other websites. When you post a hub, put it on google+, facebook, twitter, personal blog, pintrest (if it has good pics), stumbleupon, or whatever networking sites you are currently using. To learn more you can also type things like SEO or "how to get traffic" in the search bar at the top. It will bring up all things with that phrase. Then go to the right side of your screen and click hubs or answers to get to more information actually written by other hubbers. There are tons of hubs about making money on HP.
