Corn Dogs!

   Yep. Another silly thread by paradigmsearch. I just discovered 2 corn dogs in my refrigerator. Stuck them in the microwave. Waiting for them to cool. If you have a corn dog experience, say it here.

      That sounds pretty gross to me, but you have made me think of corn on the cob- I have lots in my freezer. Could cook them, daub them with "I can't believe it's not butter" with a sprinkling of paprika! Emm, possibilities!

         Sounds like another across-the-ocean culture thing to me. Hot dog in the middle. Not really sure what the outside is. LOL

            Not an across the pond issue, a meat eater and none meat eater issue. My daughter would devour hot dogs. Not that it's really an issue at all- just saying  that some meat meals really repulse me when I think about them, but not all! Bacon and fillet steak she utters under her breath.
            
            There is no outside. lol. Just really like corn- arn't you people famous for your lovely corn?

               Whoa! You mean hot dogs are made from Meat!? I've been wondering about that ever since I watched a video of some machine pooping them out...Hot Dogs made from meat...what will they think of next...

                  I think you missed the point love, the post was about the difference between corn on the cob and hot dogs. But you are right, hot dogs are made from meat!

            The outside is simulated corn bread...lol  At least that's what it's supposed to be.    Personally, I love corn dogs.  Almost as much as I love packaged pot pies.  Got any of those?  I'll stop by and share one with ya!

         Hollie, if you ever want a treat, a great Mexican snack is corn on the cob slathered with mayonnaise, sprinkled with cotija cheese (a cured Mexican cheese similar to parmesan - similar enough that you could sub parm if you have to), and sprinkled with chili powder.  Last time I did them, I used parm and chipotle chili powder and they were yummy, yummy!

         So, you do have been corn dog indoctrinated. That is a good thing. Not having experienced corn dog would indeed be a serious breach of reality.

            Yes, very satisfying when you're drunk, feeling lazy and can't be bothered to cook anything, or skint and can't afford anything better. I've been in all those places soooo many times! lol.

               I ate one corn dog. Put the other back in the refrigerator. A little corn dog goes a long way... Re: your other post. Beware lobster and shrimp, otherwise you are doomed...

                  I love lobster and prawns (now that is an across the pond/cultural issue, the prawns I mean) Even though I don't presently eat them. I could be tempted....as long as they weren't from some daft, corp who are over fishing and then throwing their unintended victim's corpses back into the ocean.

   There used to be a little mobile corn dog shack that came with the carnival to the local county fair each year.  They sold foot long dogs, hand dipped in a beer batter instead of faux corn bread.  Real hot dogs, too, not the *&^%*$@ chicken franks. 
   
   Best corn dog ever, but sadly it seems gone forever.  I haven't seen it in a handful of years now.

      Man, I have that issue with hot dogs too!  And bologna.  I like them both, but I can't handle them if they are not good quality, real beef stuff.  I love Nathan's.  And the kind that come from that place in Toledo that Klinger from M.A.S.H. used to talk about....oh!  What the heck was the name of that place?
      
      Can't remember, but YUMMY dogs.

         Oh, some pork in them is OK and can sometimes add.  Not chicken and not turkey.  You don't make hot dogs from birds; hot dogs were never meant to fly.
         
         We bought a pack of that...that...stuff the other day.  Cooked them, had two bites and threw the rest of the pack away.  Made a ham sandwich for supper.  I'll go hungry before I eat those vile, disgusting things.

            I get more scared of the pork than the poultry, believe it or not!  I think it's stuff that comes from a pig, but it ain't pork!  It gives me the willies...lol  I didn't eat a McDonald's hamburger for about six years after someone told me that their beef contained ground cow eyeballs...that's what scares me about the 'pork' in hot dogs and bologna.

               When I was in elementary school our class toured a hot dog factory.  Back when the "tube" came from the pig as well.  We even got a free, cold weiner to eat after seeing it being made - half the class couldn't get it down.
               
               I don't think anything could scare me after that!

                  Eew.  You know, that's why I haven't read The Jungle yet.  I'm afraid I'll never eat meat again. 
                  
                  I have a friend who won't eat them because she somehow became convinced as a child that they were made from Jabba the Hutt.  She knows better now, but the thought still oogs her out.

   I just made fresh corn for the first time ever. Ive made frozen a million times, but never fresh. I didnt even know how to make it. I looked it up online. You boil the water, drop the corn in (husks off) as soon as it comes back to a boil, you take it off the burner. It's done. It was so crispy and perfect. You don't add salt, sposed to make it tough. You probably all knew that, but I had no idea and it was so good. That is as close as I can come to a corn dog story.
