Anyone (one) person looking for one more person to follow?

   I have never begged for followers, but at 1,499-- it seems I will never reach an even number  of 1,500 which is meaningless and has no accolade.
   People (including followers) come and go,  and those that are still on the list don't necessarily 'follow'. I love the followers who actually read something of mine-- especially those who I enjoy following, but lately it seems like a lot of them just add themselves to a list for whatever- other reasons.
   Have you recently gotten a new follower-- then, when you check their profile and activity, they have recently followed 50 to 100 people randomly within the past hour?

      I'd be thrilled to be your 1500th follower if I were not already following you. I think we all have followers who don't really follow, but only do it as a ploy, so we will follow them. It's silly and I doubt that it helps them any.

         Thanks-- and I agree. Maybe some sites work that way (follow to be followed) but I think onw should at least read some of the words of the person you follow.

      When I first joined HP, I was warned against clicking to follow too many people at one time.  I try to only follow people who have similar interests.  The email notifications can get boggling as each one publishes a new hub. I enjoy reading the hubbers who are interesting to me. Your hub on Basal Cell Carcinoma interested me.  I clicked to follow you after I read it.  There are quite a few people here who click and follow 100 to 200 at a time for like 3 days straight on their activity! One guy clicked to follow me, and he follows over 32,000 people, has only about 8 to 9 hubs. yet claims he has published many stories etc. He asked me to follow him back, as I'm sure he has asked each one that he clicked to follow.  He only got 1234 for his troubles of clicking away.  If a hubber has nothing in common with me, they can ask 100 times, and I won't click back. Sorry but that's how I feel.
      
      I did not click to follow him.  He has nothing that interests me, as I'm sure others ran into the same thing when they looked at his hubs.
      
      I think people who have high numbers of followings just want to be known for having that number.  A brag, if you will.

         Look at what I wrote - it's in duplicate at the end...I think HP is slightly messed up tonight. I wrote a comment on your hub and clicked Post Comment and got a 404 error. UGH!  I will resubmit it. If it shows twice, delete one of them please

   I think commonality of interests is important for following. There is no use adding following somebody just for the sake of it.

      Hmm.. Well I know the number can go down if people are deleted, or delete themselves from the site-- seems like I have been hovering right around this number for months.  You know I appreciate you, no matter where you came in.
