I enjoy poetic quotes and phrases, but some are confusing. I remember a quote some guy said on the TV show Walking Dead. I watched the particular episode again and could not help wonder what this man meant when he said it to the character Daryl.
"Ain’t nothing sadder than an outdoor cat that thinks he’s an indoor cat"
Does this have something to do with freedom or trying to be something your're not?
I just watched that episode the other day. He was telling Daryl that he was meant to live outdoors, free from rules, rather than with the group he'd been with at the prison.
Reminded me of Blade Runner when Rutger Hauer's character the replicant said, "Tears in the rain. Time to die."
I don't know why.
I suspect it's a reference to the contrast between being free and wild versus tame and domesticated. I'm sure the context of the statement would be important as well. I've just never watched the show.
That's exactly what he meant when he said that to Daryl. If you're a fan of Walking Dead, and it's characters, Daryl has a very conflicted nature. The way he was brought up, and the experiences he's had forced him to be a survivor his entire life--yet Daryl has a soft side to him, which makes him a very endearing figure in the TV show.
Additionally, the context in which he was told "Ain’t nothing sadder than an outdoor cat that thinks he’s an indoor cat". He was in the company of very despicable men, and the leader of that certain group wanted to sway Daryl's allegiance to his own ends. Hope that helps!
Oh, and Lisa, that certain group had rules, unconventional, but they did have rules! I can't believe we're talking Walking Dead on the Hubpages forums.
I love the Walking Dead. And I like quotes or cool sounding phrases from anything from TV shows or presidents.
Daryl is pretty tough, but does have a soft side, but it is repressed. Remember when he and Beth were fighting (sort of) at that house that they later burned down? Beth brought out his emotions in him.
I recently watched that episode on Netflix too, and thought that was an interesting line / thing to say. It made me pause and and think about that. I really like Walking Dead.
Yes, I originally saw the episode months ago, but when I watched it again (on Netflix) I also paused and re-winded it to hear the quote again.
I don't know why Netflix always get previous Walking Dead Season almost right before new episodes premier on AMC.
That happens with most shows. They usually time it so people can rewatch the previous seasons before the next season starts.
I will be waiting for the next season of Walking Dead on Netflix, unless I break down and get DISH or DIRECTV.

Did Glen die in Sunday's episode of the Walking Dead or was it a teaser?I think Glen will come back as a Walker. He wasn't on Talking Dead nor was he shown on "In Memoriam".

The Walking Dead, first episode of season 5--where was Maggie?I finally got a chance to watch the first episode of season 5 last night, which aired Sunday, on the 12th. I don't recall seeing Maggie anywhere. If I remember correctly, Glenn and Maggie were united at the end of season 4, and...

Just a fun post for everyone. I'd like to know your favourite tv series and why, that's all I'm personally torn between The Walking Dead and Prison Break, although I think PB takes the spot but only just. Would love to know everyone elses opinion!
