I have had a very positive experience here on the hub. My fans have been people who have taken time to read my hubs and I guess they liked what I had to say. I am feeling pretty helpless about the state of affairs here in the USA and hubbing gives me an outlet for my frustration. Welcome aboard!!

    Hi sweetie,

You definitely came to the right place.  I've been a recovering alcoholic for over 3 years now, and along with that comes the big book, working the 12 steps, and going to meetings.

However, it wasn't until I joined Hubpages a few months ago that I was truly able to start feeling some of the everyday pressure (that goes along with being an addict) diminishing.

Every time I write a new hub (regardless of the subject) I find myself feeling stronger, and much more content with my life.  This is something that has also become obvious to the people I am close to.  I have found that my relationships with everyone in my life are changing for the better.

As far as obtaining fans, the best thing you can do is keep writing new hubs, follow and post in the forums (that's a big one), and take an interest in other people's hubs.

You're off to a good start by just having the courage to put yourself out there.  If you're able to do that, there's no telling how far you can go with your writing.

Your new friend and fellow hubber, Wendi

The question, "does hubbing really work?" I have been here two and half years and also have written a hub about the same question you asked. I believe writing hubs really does work, it just truly depends on what you as the writer is putting into it. It truly is the best site I have written on, and believe me I have written my work on a few. Once you begin you really truly enjoy it. As for gaining fans get involved in the community, socialize on the threads, write and also read other writers hubs, make comments and most of all just be you and have fun!
