When voting do you ever choose a candidate just because you think they're the most attractive?

Wow I hope not! That's not a very good reason to vote for someone.

I personally have not but I think there is something to be said for the marketing aspect of politics to say that a person who is photogenic and attractive does buy some attention time. But it only buys times in the end....if the message is not there, I don't think most folks will respond and cast their vote in favor of that candidate.  If that were the case, a big breasted blonde hammer would have been sitting in the White House long ago...luckily, women can vote and their votes does count! LOL! WB

Definitely not consciously. I would like to think that my sub-conscious does not let me act that stupidly either.

No, I try not to let appearance sway my judgement of the core values.

Oh my goodness no! It would defeat the suppose of me fulfilling my duties as an American citizen! I need to vote for the candidate who does the most good in protecting the interests of the community, and having ideologies paralleled to mine. I need to vote for the candidate for the most good. If they are an attractive candidate, but a terrible politician(well, one would is sober and not scandalous) then I am just being a detriment to the society I live in.
How could you ask such a question? I can't even conceive such a senseless notion!

Studies have shown that attractiveness affects votes.

WindMaestro, the reason I asked is because the other day in line at the store I overheard two senior women talking about who they were going to vote for President in 2012.. One of them mentioned she'd voted for Obama last time because he was "cuter". Her friend said the last time she'd picked the "cuter" one it was Clinton but he had disappointed her. So their conversation got me wondering if other people take the cute factor into consideration when voting.

While some candidates have a good agende, they have to no how to be able to present it in a way that it can be recieved well. An atractive candidate that knows how to present his or herself may therefore be voted for but on the other hand if you vote solely because of attractiveness you are making a mistake.

Sometimes if I really don't care about the position or if there is nobody that I particularly like.
