What would your ideal economic system look like? What would you change?
It would be a free market directed by the choices of the buyers, not by the command & control dictates of either government or corporate authority. The United States, unfortunately, has not enjoyed such an enlightened state of affairs since the first half of the nineteenth century. I would eliminate the concentrated institutional power that has prevented it since.
I believe in fairness and equality.. In my most honest opinion, I prefer that the government should hold and control all the industries and that the 'people' should control the government. The products that will be produced by the industries will just be enough to suffice the needs of the people, no surplus products that will bring more capital to one individual. From the people > for the people > to the people. Since all the industries are controlled by the people, there's no more competition for capitalists. Everyone will live fair, no rich no poor.
In layman's term... socialism.
I have heard that the government makes it difficult for a small business to open with all the fees, rules, regulations, etc... I would eliminate the red tape to encourage more small business. Also make it more feasible for larger corporations to make their products here in the USA rather than shipping it overseas.
Call center business should be moved back to the USA and I believe this is happening more in that companies are hiring people to work at home to answer customer service calls.
Education should be more affordable for those who want to attend. Salaries wouldn't be so ridiculously high for CEOs. They wouldn't get gold parachutes if they run the company into the ground. They wouldn't get million dollar bonus checks after laying off employees.
One in which there is economic empowerment.
I think the current system we have now has too many flaws to continue without some kind of philosophical but pragmatic upgrade. There is nothing wrong with capitalism, unless you forget things like the lack of a living wage, over dependence on mega corporations for employment, poverty and homeless.
If people were able to work for themselves, from micro-businesses, home-based businesses to old fashioned proprietorships, then what would this economy be like?
Upgrade our economy in such a way that all boats rise, and in which 'boom or bust' is a thing of the past.

Where would I put a question about changing our economic system?I've been looking at the use of currency and found it to be the root of many of our problems today; employment, poverty, environmental deprivation, economic collapse and have been working on a hub to try to address it. First I want to...

There's no one to step on/take advantage of anymore?Capitalism is defined as:- free-market system: an economic system based on the private ownership of the means of production and distribution of goods, characterized by a free competitive market and motivation by profit.
