   A question for UK hubbers - what country do the majority of your page views come from?
   
   I have noticed from my stats that my page views from the UK consistently outrank those from abroad. My google UK views are virtually double that of google.com (USA) despite the huge difference in potential viewers - do you think we are being blocked out by US search engines here in the UK? I'm sure I used to get a lot more traffic from the US.

   Hi Imogen,
                   I am also from the UK and the UK ranks 3rd overall behind the US and India in terms of Page Views. Not sure if it is just the topics I write about, but my views from the US are about six times those I receive from the UK. India is very close to the UK in terms of views. We are not blocked from search engines in the US, perhaps what you write about is not being searched by our American friends.

      you could be right, Robbie - lots of my hubs are to do with subjects close to home, but I'm sure I used to get a lot more from the US, and the situation seems to have reversed lately

   imogen - 85%of my views come from the states followed by the UK.  This has been consistent since I first started on HubPages about a year ago.  I think the subjects I write about are more directly related to the interests of the American reader.  I don't believe that we are being blocked by US search engines.

   Google shows different search results depending upon the viewer's IP address location.  If you install the Google Global app to your browser, you can see the different results shown to a viewer from the UK, US, Canada or Australia.  The rank of an individual Hub will be different when searching for the same keyword phrase query, based upon the searcher's location.  It is often helpful to use Google Global to see what searchers are seeing.
   
   If you have a Hub on the best pizza restaurants, viewers from the US expect to see results in their country instead of the UK, and vice versa. Even for subjects that might appear to surpass location, such as cancer treatment, will often show different results because medicine takes different approaches in different parts of the world.
   
   If you specifically want more viewers from the US, use Google Global to see which competitors are ranking well for US search queries and do your research to find out why.
   
   Another thing that factors in to Google search results is 'personalized search.'  This means that Google will display results targeted to an individual's search/click-through history.  There is little you can do to target people who do not turn off the personal search feature when they search on Google.

   In the last 30 days I have have three times as many page views in the UK as I have from the us (a ratio of 3:1), and my top hubs have all been recipe hubs. I just don't get it.

      Are you perhaps using expressions or ingredients that only someone in the UK would use?  For instance, a 'biscuit' means something quite different in the US than in the UK. Do you mention UK cities or market names in your Hubs?
