Red Sox Fans, now that the Red Sox have lost Jon Lester, what do you think of the two new pitchers

Now that the Red Sox have lost Jon Lester ...
Do you think Rick Porcello is one of the best starting pitchers in baseball over the past couple of years?  Also, what do you think about the Red Sox getting Wade Miley from Arizona?  Thank you for answering.

I'd rather see Lester in a Sox uniform, but I think we'll be OK without him.  We also got a couple of good bats this off-season.  We're the first team in MLB history to go from worst to first and back to worst.  We have a chance at history again by being the first to go from worst to first, back to worst, then back to first again.  And, if first is spelled f-i-r-s-t, why isn't worst spelled w-i-r-s-t?

Hi Bob, Yes, for sure, and I agree, we'll be just fine. Making history again would be amazing! Hahaha ...I never thought about the spelling of the words first and worst...good observations all around! Thank you for answering.

Lester went to the Cubs (ouch).  Masterson is a one-year deal.  Didn’t he pitch for the Sox in 8-9?  Porcello was snapped up from Detroit.  I can’t keep track of these deals and all the musical chairs, Faith.  I love my Sox (well, except for the Amish-reject style beards), but my head is spinning.  Loved this question, my friend.

Yes, Genna, ouch!  My dad was a huge Red Sox fan, and so I try to keep up ... but just this week, so many changes that I can't keep up either! Yes, he made nine starts with the Sox the first half of 2008.  Yes, that Dollar Beard Night ... LOL

I'm actually a Dodgers fan, but an avid baseball fan. I think the Masterson signing was brilliant being only a one year deal so you're not risking much if it goes sour. He's potentially a low risk/high reward type guy. I like the Porcello trade even though Cespedes was in the deal. I feel Porcello is a bit underrated and under the radar at times and he's still young. Miley isn't bad and decent pitcher for the back end of the rotation. Sox should be able to save lots of money on not signing Lester.

Hello Patrick (Dodgers fan and avid baseball fan), So nice to meet you and welcome to HubPages! Baseball is a great American sport!  Being I live in the Deep South, I am also a Braves' fan. I appreciate the great insight and answer to my question.
