The problem with most GMOs is that there is very little long-term, independent testing to show what the health effects might be. GMOs are generally tested for a short while, by the company that creates them, to satisfy the FDA's requirements. Finding money for a long term test that isn't supported by the people who will profit from the findings is very difficult.

I generally try to avoid GMOs. Until there's long term data showing there are no health effects, I prefer not to include them in my diet.

There has not been a long enough time period to make a declaration that GMO foods are harmful or not to our health.
The real fight at hand today is the manufactures of GMO foods don't want to be forced to (label their food) as being GMO.
I suspect their fear is the public doesn't want to buy GMO foods!
If it's all on the up and up label it and let the consumer decide.
We label "organic foods" why not label GMO foods?
If people don't buy them manufactures will cut the price and if that does not entice people to purchase then they will eliminate GMO.
    Let the market (knowingly) decide!

Gotcha! Dashingscorpio you've hit the mark, consumers have the right to be informed especially GMOs and let consumers decide. I also share your concern manufacturer's of GMOs are trying to elude the issue. Thanks..

Most of our modern veggies are genetically modified, so it's a real toss up here.

Yes, but our problem is the market in as much as we would like to avoid GM foods there are no labels! Manufacturers and food processors are not compiled to label their products. I suppose consumers should have the Choice. Thanks for the input.

GMO's carries foreign gene(s), whose by products interferes with other  metabolic processes in man ex. Golden Rice was not marketed because of that and many more that is why humans should demand that it should be labelled for fair use GMOs a threat.
