   What if our Elected representatives actually worked for us, the people.
   
   You have to wonder, in times like these, what would happen for America if our elected officials actually stood up, tomorrow and concentrated on doing what they promised to the ones who elected them?

   Well Don, don't you think the people who reelected BO must have felt he stood up and concentrated on doing what he promised to the ones who elected him?
   
   Guess you're talking about the elected officials in the 2010 and 2014 elections, those the tea party and conservatives elected who once in office went out of their way to support Obama in their votes with a couple exceptions like Ted Cruz.
   
   A good question and hopefully once we get a republican president with control of both houses we'll find out what the answer is, but that is hope and change of a different sort than Obama promised isn't it. His didn't work out so well, maybe...probably...of course... the Republican's promises won't either, but there is a slim chance that after this next election we will find out the answer to your question.
   
   Let's just HOPE that this time it is the CHANGE the country wants and needs and not just a change in name only.

   That is a great question Don.  Our biggest problem is the trend called "The Washington Way."
   
   Some of our elected officials have just plain been there too darn long and are now owned by large companies and individuals.  Those large campaign contributions come with stings attached and once they accept that first big contribution to their campaign they are bought and paid for.
   
   Checking the voting records of every member of Congress is not a good indicator of their performance.  By bundling many bills under the same cover politicians are forced to vote in favor of things they are opposed to in order to get the one thing they wanted.  All bills of major significance should be "stand alone" bills and not mixed in with dozens of other issues.
   
   Much of the decision making is done behind closed doors and what we see on TV is just a circus side show to make us think they are doing their jobs.
   
   The level of greed, graft, and corruption in our government is at an all time high.  Have you ever wondered why someone would spend a couple million of their own money to get a job that pays 170K per year?  My best guess is they know they will make that money back plus a bunch more during their first term in office.
   
   Our government has become far to big and unwieldy to properly manage anymore.  There is little or no accountability and nobody loses their job for poor performance.
   
   Until the voters of this country wakeup  and start voting for the best candidates regardless of their party affiliation nothing will change.   Voter apathy and ignorance is a very large part of the problems we see today.

      So true Mike,the voters get what they vote for&this electorate has got to be the least informed, least caring (60% don't even vote) most undescerning down right, immoral electorate in the history of this nation&we have liberalism to thank for

      When it hits home,that's when it will happen and not by anyone's planned efforts.Liberalism doesn't work,sadly the pain it is inflicting on people will cause them to see the light,probably too late as long as the media keepsspinning the truth

      TSAD - I suspect for many reality will not set in until all of "Others Peoples Money" is gone and the welfare checks quit coming.  Other countries have already had to deal with this and we may be the next in line.

   It's a good question but unfortunately, it won't happen until we have term limits on members of Congress and guess what, the only people who can make that happen are members of Congress, hence our predicament.

   What a novel idea. Politicians talk about entitlement programs and yet, they have the best entitlement programs anyone could ask for. Once elected officials get to Washington, they no longer represent 'we the people.' Instead, they pander to lobbyists and all the money and power they can grab. 'We the people' are left in the dust, scratching our heads in disbelief.
