    Ace Frehley!  Thoughts?

I am interested in KISS. The controversy surrounding their induction into the rock and Roll Hall of Fame seems to indicate bad blood between the four former band-mates.  Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons have been opening critical of Ace Frehley and Peter Criss.  Now, Stanley is a guest on Frehley's newest cd.  His remake of "White Room" is up on Youtube right now, as well as some video of him doing other covers featured on his latest, "Origins, Volume 1."  Ace also invited Gene Simmons to guest, but never received a response.  Peter Criss appeared on Ace's "Space Invader."

Well, I hate to bring up racism but Stanley and Simmons are both Jewish, and Frehley and Chris are both not.

They were probably not getting paid very much for their service, and they probably only ever even became someone who's names we know because Stanley and Simmons likely had all the ideas and all the connections.

I like KISS as party music, and always have; but we're not talking about high musical standards here, and so Frehley and Chris were people one could replace kinda easily. Simmons and Stanley don't have anything great going for them in musical talent either, they're just entertainers, showmen, and that's all they ever were or will be.

KISS was always a fun band to listen to.  I think the original line-up was the best.  I am always hopeful they will reunite. The combination of the four is when the magic happened.  The band became kitsch after Criss and Frehley left.

No doubt he's a great guitar player, but I've met Ace in person and unfortunately he was a bit of a douche.
The inter-personal sniping between Frehley/Criss and Simmons/Stanley has been going on forever, it's nothing new.

I am excited about Ace's new CD. I listened to "White Room" and some of the live cuts like Thin Lizzy's "Emerald" and I think he's got his mojo back.  Ace also says Paul's vocals on "Fire and Water" are fabulous.

I haven't heard the new CD yet, but I liked his last one "Anomaly" just fine. I'm still a fan, even if meeting him was not the most pleasant encounter.

"White Room" is available right now on Youtube...and a lot of the covers are up on Youtube from his live show in Houston, sans guests...but really good stuff!  Has me hoping...I know, unrealistically, ... for one more Kiss reunion ...
