Absolutely not.
Politicians in D.C. represent their State's interests (those with the power and money in their state that is), and they represent Corporate and Banking interests.
Our Congress hasn't represented the people's interests in over 30 years. Though they are far more corrupt and in collusion now, than at any time in living memory.
You can go down the line and ask a simple question about any political subject of today "who does it benefit" and that will tell you what you want to know.
Lets put it to the test, shall we?
Lets remove any moral, or heartfelt personal beliefs on these subjects and just answer to how it impacts and helps or hurts AMERICAN citizens, workers, or our economic situation.
Question 1 -
Who benefits from open borders, millions of undocumented workers (aka illegal aliens)?
a) American workers (wages)
b) State Governments (which have to provide health/educ/housing)
c) National Corporations (Toll Bros., Tyson Foods)
Question 2 -
Who benefits from the government subsidizing skyrocketing healthcare insurance costs that can double in just one year?
a) American workers (wage earners)
b) State Governments (which supply/manage Medicaid/care)
c) Insurance companies (raking in unheard of profits)
Question 3 -
Who has benefited from a quarter century of NAFTA?
a) American workers (stagnant wages, failing unions)
b) State Governments (loss of tax income from lost businesses)
c) Corporations (which can now use slave labor in foreign countries and send products back into America without taxation or tariffs)
You can do it all day, and that's how you realize that the politicians don't serve us, they serve their own greed and corruption, they serve the corporations and even foreign nations. At our expense.
In our name, these politicians serve those who donate them party fundingd

The point of corporations, (not just U.S. corporations), using cheaper overseas labor has prompted a common designation that the labor they are using is slave labor...I think this is an incorrect description. And I think it wrong because, generally speaking, the description is derived from the fact...
