This year my traffic is lower than last, but Amazon sales are through the roof, making up for and then some for lack of traffic. Averaging near $20/day the last few weeks in Amazon earnings alone. There has been a huge uptick with Amazon

Have a look at what the sales were for.  I saw a jump when a specific hub got popular

Same stuff that was selling last year, just a whole lot more of it. I think it's just that year after year, more people are buying online.

I got my first Amazon sale last month. However, it did not reflect on my total monthly earnings for that month. What could be the issue?

No, they seem to be somewhat lower than last year, but traffic to DenGarden for all my articles has been lower this year.

Me too eubug. Traffic way down on Dengarden compared to last year. (All my articles except one are on Dengarden)

Respectfully disagreeing.  Traffic on my Dengarden hubs is waaaaay up compared to last year.  200% - 300%.  Maybe because I write about gardening which is exploding in popularity.

I wish my amazon income was better. Monthly figures went down around fifty percent last year and another fifty percent this year. The HP Ads income has picked up, but I'd still like an Amazon recovery. I've done my best to follow HP advice and look at what gets highlighted on the niche sites, but I've not got any great ideas over what to do. Most of my Amazon hubs have only one, or maybe two links nowadays, so it's hard to cut those back...

Paul, I am not sure if you are talking about your Amazon sales on this account or one of the others, but I found one article on this account that has an Amazon ad and it is a capsule (for a subwoofer).
My Amazon sales went way up last year when I deleted all of my capsules and started using Amazon links instead. Same products, but as I understand it the capsule is blocked with an adblocker but the link is not.
I am not positive if it is the adblocker software or if the readers feel the link is less intrusive and go ahead and buy there more often.

Thanks, I'll try that. I generally removed the capsules for my best-sellers and used links, but I will try doing it for all of them. I am planning to go through them and update them in the near future, so I will make sure capsules are all gone.

I have a few Amazon-orientated articles scattered around my HP accounts, and some that I moved to Blogger. They still earn, but it's like 25% of what they brought in at their peak. I used to have a lot more in the old days, but I generally kept the better ones for HP. They just don't get the views that they used to.

I do appreciate the feedback, but I'm somewhat downcast by the Amazon situation. I've started going through my Amazon articles, but generally as I thought, either I've replaced capsules with text links, or HP has clipped them, certainly on the higher view hubs. It won't do any harm revamping but I am not expecting any great turnaround

My main problem is that Amazon hubs that used to get 150-200 views/day now get 40-50 or much less. To get the clicks the hubs need to be either number one or at least in the top three in the Google rankings.

The other problem is that Amazon have drastically cut back the earning rates over the past few years. Not really much that I or HP can do about that, but it's frustrating.

This is why I've generally switched to pursuing the Hub Ads and limit my time with the Amazon articles. I've had difficult times before with the Amazons, but not sure how to recover from this one. I'm still trying though...

Patrick, There is a 2-month delay with Amazon payouts because they need to confirm the buyer is not returning the item purchased.

Yes. My Amazon sales are the highest ever. I am doing the Happy Dance!
