Yesterday my earnings were negative because a small commission from someone's Amazon purchase bounced after they cancelled or returned the item. This is the first time my daily earning balance has gone below zero and I am wondering whether having Amazon capsules is worth the hassle. Has it happened to you?
I've had it happen once, but I haven't had any luck with Amazon commissions since HubPages first big Amazon rule change like 10 years ago.
It seems like any time I try to write about a product or a top 10 list where I could reference Amazon, it never gets featured until I remove the Amazon capsules.
Now and then, I'll attempt another product-based article, hoping to get at least featured, ideally make it to a network site with an Amazon capsule in there, but so far, it hasn't happened.
Thanks Billy @billsplace I only got one Amazon sale commission in 2017 and two the same day this month, one of which was charged back/returned two days after. I am not sure whether having Amazon capsules is worth it, particularly if having them can prevent a hub from being featured on a network site. Who knows?
Update: I only had a total of 3 Amazon capsules out of 70 articles and one Amazon capsule has been snipped by the editors so I guess I won't really bother adding these capsules to my hubs in the future, not worth the hassle!
I've always wondered what would happen if the negative still exists at the end of the month! Do we have to write a cheque to Amazon? (joke)
That would be the lowest blow of all! The negative balance still remained at the end of the month, thankfully some kind soul bought a couple of things afterwards to make up for the loss, but anyway it was only a small amount, which makes me think Amazon capsules are just extra hassle I don't need right now!
It happens occasionally. It still works out positively.
For me, it happens sometimes at the start of the month when someone returns an item originally bought at the end of the previous month. The negative then disappears as the month progresses.
Thanks Paul @paulgoodman67, this was my first instance of a negative balance and I wasn't aware of it - we are all learning about HP features here in the forum!

I understand the rationale for removing amazon capsules. I'm very careful not to include amazon capsules unless they are 100% relevant, and I can provide a personal opinion. I rarely do more than one per hub.HP is not only snipping amazon capsules on hubs for niche sites, but also just to have a...

Can you still earn money from Amazon capsules in your hubs without being a member of the Amazon affiliates program? The reason I ask is because being from Illinois I am not allowed to join the Amazon affiliates program so I was wondering if I should even bother with adding Amazon capsules in...

Right now, it feels as if I'm in a headlock with one moderator, over one product capsule.Team Hub Pages suggested I post here for suggestions on improving my hub with the most traffic. it was recently edited and several product capsules were removed. Then I put them back in. Then it was unfeatured...

In your opinion, out of all of the afflilates, which one pays more the fastest? Please list the pros and cons...
