What Will Be the Record of the Chicago Bears?

   Hey everyone,
      I would like to get some feedback on how the Chicago Bears will finish the 2009 NFL Season.  My prediction is the Bears will finish 7-9 again under Lovie Smith.  I think it will be some miracle for them to reach 8-8 or 9-7 but who knows.

   They have a decent chance at 8-8. They might pull one out against Green Bay and the way Baltimore is playing they have a chance. Depends on how bad Cutler falls apart. If he self destructs they could end up 5-11. I'd put them at 7-9 as a most likely scenario.

   I am a die hard Bears fan. I think they will end up 7-9. Cutler has not delivered and it's a shame. Orton is doing better we should have kept him.

         I guess they wanted someone with a little bit more flare? Cutler is overrated and was  benefiting from the fine play of wide receivers. He is good but not great and he's going to have to be a little bit more  humble with what life throws at him rather than throwing a temper tantrum when things do not go his way.

            Call me conservative, but I wouldn't give up two number ones and a number three for a little bit more flare. That might be the worst trade since Herschel Walker.

      actually, i think they should just fire lovie smith, and bring in a coach that will make the bears a threat again.  take in mind its not just kyle orton thats doing good in denver,but cedric benson that's doing amazing well for the bengals.  yet both these players seemed border line decent in chicago.  therefore, it shows just how poorly lovie smith has constructed him offense.

         It seems to be a pattern with Chicago teams not just the Bears but the Cubs as well. They have a mediocre player or just a player who doesn't seem to get it together, we trade them and they become super stars. And yes I am getting a bit sick of Lovie as well.

            well to be fair, the chicago white sox did win a world series recently a few years ago, and the chicago bulls used to be a huge threat in the 90's; they're even a huge factor now in the nba.  sure, they're not as good as they were back in the jordan era, but they're still capable of making the playoffs.

   Another part of the problem is Football Operations for the Bears in Ted Phillips and Jerry Angelo.  If you look at there track record, the Bears have missed out on some great talent.  Plus, the team is very cheap when it comes to draft picks.  And when it comes to free agents, they have overpaid for questionable talent.  Lovie is not so much of the problem as it is the football operations and scouts for the Bears.  Unfortunately, the Bears are going to plenty of needs for the draft but hardly have any picks due to trades.  They need improvements in the O-line, Defensive Secondary, Linebacker and D-line depth. I will say the pleasant surprise of the team is talent at wide receiver. Earl Bennett and Johnny Knox are very good unfortunately Jay Cutler does not throw the ball to them enough.

      I agree and Johnny Knox is very very good and Hester is starting to get it together on offense.
