Superintendant makes over $300,000 per year.  Teacher recruiter makes over $98,000 year.  Teachers make less than $40,000 year.  Classified staff makes less than $30,000 year.  Most administrators make more than $100,000 per year.  Several certified and classified staff have been furloughed and as of yesterday, terminated.  The Superintendant makes more than the university presidents of three colleges in my city.  He also received a bonus.  Who do you think needs to take a pay cut?

that is certainly not the norm by any means. what is your source?
teachers can average more or less depending on years in the system, age group, degrees and location. an average superintendant's salary is not close to 300,000. administrators do not average over 100,00. your post needs clarification.

All those who have no direct daily contact with educating students should voluntarily take pay cuts, but that must become an issue sustained by the parents, community members and tax payers, in general.

Most Admistrators make over $100,000 a year?!?!? Are you serious? Are you just talking about schools or in general? Damn I am in the wrong country, I am working as an administrator for less than all of those stated salaries right now!

I taught in a small rural community in South GA, and our principal made way over $100,000. Our head football coach made almost as much! Of course, teachers made much, much less.

Sad but true, I've heard it said many times by administrators, who also double as teachers in small rural school, that they make over $100,000 a year.

www.Payscale.com has a list of the best undergraduate degrees.
Educator is near the bottom of the list with a mid-career salary of $54,000. Superintendent $87,328-$142,443.

my comments are not in relation to what is considered a large salary or not.  An administrator has a lot of responsibility and takes on all of the stress of making sure an organization can operate.  lots of sleepless nights.  in this case the teachers do their job - it is clear what the expectations are, they don't necessarily have to worry about whether or not there are funds in the bank when they cash their pay cheque or whether or not the 'lights are on' or what the enrollment numbers are.  The administrators have to make sure the 'machine runs'. And when they have to make hard decisions because there isn't enough revenue - that is probably the hardest thing anyone has to deal with and for sure sleep is lot.  Good administrators tend not to show the stresses they deal with day in and day out.  Many times the job description is pretty broad and the priorities can change regularly - 'putting fires out' regularly is part of the job.  Sometimes it is not an easy task.  The amount of an administrator's salary is another matter in terms of what is reasonable.  Sometimes, I'd prefer to go into work and not worry about whether there is enough revenue coming in, and money in the bank to keep everyone happy and able to do what they were hired to do.
