Custom Card Ideas: Nimble Shank

Do you enjoy the more unique equippable items? How about one that thrives on the dice roll? One single item might become the most powerful item in your arsenal. At the very least it has a high variable and a fantastic range in damage. Meet the Nimble Shank.

The Nimble Shank falls into the same category as the Executioner's Axe from my Munchkin Custom Cards; neither one are game-changing, but they are equip cards with a special niche to them. The Nimble Shank relies upon the die roll.

"Before combat roll the die. If you roll 4+, you get another +1 bonus and may roll again for another bonus until the die roll fails."

It starts off as a +1 Bonus in 1 Hand. Not that notable. However, with a little bit of luck or the appropriate support of die-enhancing abilities, the Nimble Shank can outclass any other equip card (disregarding special abilities). Every roll has a 50% chance of increasing the weapon's bonus. Any items that may give any die roll bonus shifts that bonus.

This item also has the advantage of being very inexpensive; Curses targeting the most expensive or No Value items will ignore this card, allowing you to invest more Item Enhancer cards to it safely. With a little bit more investment behind the base +1 level of the card, it can be a reliable killer.

The Nimble Shank is very versatile. However, it benefits from bigger decks that grant more Loaded Die cards or abilities that give you additional chances to re-roll the dice. Decks with more expansions usually have more Loaded Die cards and there are some powers with decks like Munchkin Bites that grant additional die rolls in some categories.
