DC Universe Online Powers Summary
There are multiple different power choices in DC Universe Online. This article is designed to give you a run down of all the powers in the MMO DC Universe Online, such as Iconic powers and of course the class power choices that fill the various roles within the game, being tank, controller or healer.
Class Powers
These powers are chosen during Character Creation, and they determine your character's abilities, how you will play your character solo as well as their role within a group situation. Each power has two specializations, one for defensive and area effect purposes and one for DPS (Damage Per Second)
- Fire
Fire is considered a ‘meta’ power, and is good for either the Tanking Role or ranged DPS (Damage Per Second). They can either blast at their enemies from afar, or get up close and personal and use their power to spread the flames as fast as possible through a group, causing as much damage as possible. Fire Power is broken down into two specializations:
Immolation
Ignition

- Ice Power
Ice is also a great choice for those who like to Tank. With numerous abilities to ‘lock down’ enemies and cause area of effect damage, Ice Power is another safe choice for those who want to Meta Tank. Ice Power branches off in the following ways:

- Mental Power
Those with the Mental Superpower have brilliant defence mechanisms using crowd control techniques. They can also damage enemies by moving objects with their mind, or creating illusions to confound them. Mental Powers break off in the following ways:

- Nature Power
Nature Power users falls into either the Healer or the Jack-Of-All-Trades type class. Nature Power has the ability to call on the life of plants to keep friends alive, or wither away enemies. If they are ever in a pickle, Nature Power users can also become various animals to suit different purposes. It has the following two skill trees:

- Sorcery Power
Sorcerers are a great combat support role and with the power to blast enemies with the unseen forces of their magical power, they are certainly a force to contend with. They also have great Healing abilities if you prefer that to crowd control/DPS. The power of the Arcane falls into two categories:

- Gadgets Power
Like Batman or The Joker, those who use the power of technological gadgets are considered crafty and strategic. On the battlefield, a well-placed gadget can help control your enemy. The gadgeteer has two different paths that they can choose to follow:

Iconic Powers
Iconic Powers are designed to mimic the powers of well-known superheroes (thus allowing you to, for example, obtain something similar to Superman's heat vision or Super Strength). There is an entire skill tree of various different Iconic Powers.
