Kinect Sports: Kinect Games

Updated on June 12, 2011

Kinect Sports

Kinect Sports is one of the launch titles for Kinect (previously known as Project Natal) which is Microsoft's answer to motion control and its success. And seeing as the Wii as incredibly successful for Nintendo, I imagine Microsoft wanted a share of that market.

And what better way to start than with one of Nintendo's most successful titles Kinect Sports which is obviously a copy of Wii Sports. However that does not mean Kinect Sports is bad, in fact it actually looks pretty good. Whether it will be as good as Wii Sports, I honestly don't know but that is enough comparisons for know and I will start talking about the game in more detail.

Kinect Sports Games Bowling, Soccer and Volleyball

Kinect Sports feature six different sports which you can play. And most of them are different from Wii Sport as well. The six sports are as follows bowling, soccer, ping pong, track and field (includes many events like javelin and hurdles), volleyball and boxing.

Bowling will be probably be the key as people will compare it to Wii Sports Bowling. I actually do think this version looks better as the venue looks a lot cooler and you can see the pins at the top.

Soccer is basically just penalties and while I do love football I get the feeling this won't work very well, at least not first time!  One person is the goalkeeper trying to save the ball while the other is trying to score.

Beach volleyball in my opinion could be really fun and a fantastic party game. I can see me jumping around with the rest of my family trying to hit the ball over the net.

Kinect Sports Beach Volleyball

Beach volleyball looks really fun in Kinect Sports and could be one of the more successful sports. I can actually imagine my family jumping around trying to keep the ball up and hit it other the other side.

Kinect Sports Games Boxing, Table Tennis and Track and Field

Boxing also looks pretty good and could be much better than the Wii Sports version.  Why you ask.  Because in Kinect Sports you may have to actually punch and as it is a sensor it might take into account how strong or weak your punches are.  Maybe you can even throw the towel by saying "I throw the towel"!

Table tennis will probably be OK but to be honest it could be brilliant or absolutely rubbish!

Finally track and field is probably the main thing that sets apart Kinect Sports from Wii Sports and includes multiple track and field events like javelin and hurdles which should be good fun.

Kinect Sports

Kinect Sports looks quite promising and while it is not very different from Wii Sports still looks very exciting and will be a fun party game and is designed to be played multiplayer. Kinect Sports is coming out in November 2010 and looks like it will be a good laugh.

Beach volleyball and the track and field events look the best in my opinion but I can't wait to get my hands on this and try it out!

If you can't wait for Kinect Sports too make sure you get your order your copy from Amazon and get it on or before release day!
