Doing a party for the kids at home. Any idea for games to entertain them?
I need games to last around 4 hours. (kids ages ranging from 3 to 4)
What kind of party is it? Birthday or Holiday? How many kids are you entertaining? Are they all boys, all girls, or a mixed group (good luck with that, hahaha)
I've found that they are sort of into games, but that they may also enjoy some simple crafts they can do together at a table and have something they made to take home.
Pin the tail on the donkey, or the NOSE on Rudolph if it is Holiday
A very simple hide and seek game (Hide peanuts in the shell around the living room and let them keep what they find)
Guess the name of the song that is playing on the tape recorder
Sing some songs or let them do some simple cooking thing like: decorate a cookie, or make their own pizza. Or they can build a graham cracker cookie house.
Musical chairs is always a good one.
Duck Duck Goose is good-except you need some space
Have fun Oh, and go to Cardelean's profile page and scroll thru her hubs-she has several that are party ideas.
Hire a bouncy castle for them. This will keep them busy and happy for hour's.
Hi Denise Handlon, great idea, the crafts. Had not thought of that. They are about 20 children, give or take, and it's a mixed group. Yeah, I know, I'm heading for deep waters. Thank you for your ideas.
Hello MP50, the bouncing castle is also good, but it's a bit too cold for that right now, I would say. Thanks
I remember when we used to play "Pepsi-pepsi-seven-up"
Objective: the other kids to touch the wall where the "it" kid is.
1. One kid is the "it". He would go to a wall and the other kids would be far behind him staring from a "safe" zone, put a line there to avoid disputes later on.
2. He would shout "Pepsi-Peeepsi-Seveeeeeeeeen-UP!", (while shouting this, the other kids can move stealthily close to him). After shouting, he would turn around to face the other kids. The other kids should not make a move. Those who move would be out of the game.
3. Repeat 1 and 2 until one of the kid's touch the wall.
4. When one of the other kids touch the wall, the the "it" kid then would chase one and tap one kid to become the new "it" kid. However, when the other kids reach the "safe zone", the "it" kid has no choice but to be the "it" once again.
It was a simple yet fun game. Hope this helps:D
I think this is an American game? But we used to call this "pepsi-pepsi-seven-up"

Is using humor in your hubs a good idea?I think it can make your reader feel comfortable and familiar with you, but some might argue that humor makes you look less professional or knowledgeable. What do you all think?
