Why do you have to answer skill testing questions when you win a prize?
A lot of the time when you win a prize, it states that you have to answer a skill testing question in order to claim your prize. It's usually a math problem of sorts. I'm just wondering why they do this. Is it necessary?
It's the law in many countries. It is not permitted to offer a random prize - because that is a lottery and lotteries are governed by one set of rules. They are not allowed to choose one person just from those who purchased a product. The law actually allows only a skill-based competition. That's why you get a skill choice but it's usually pretty easy because they want lots of people to enter, so they can build up a mailing list. If you find a competition with a harder question - enter it - usually fewer people enter those so you have more chance.

Why do some people ask a question then delete the answers they don't like?A number of times I've gone back to look at an answer I gave and the questioner has deleted it. Do they wish to embrace censorship or silence the opposition?

Why is it that people insist on taking over someone else's question, or hub, for their own soapbox?Lately I've noticed several questions, and even the occasional hub, where several people answer the question, and one person (not the author either) take over and tell people they are wrong and why,...
