What are the best games to download for free on my smartphone for my granddaughter who is six?
What are the best games I can download for free on my smartphone for my granddaughter to play who is about to be six years old? She always asks to play games on my phone and I do not have any.
You can't go wrong with anything from the Angry Birds series. They're not particularly violent, just cartoony.
My sons also like "Ninja Chicken," in which the title character must collect coins and acorns while jumping and flipping through an obstacle course of haystacks, pitchforks, cactuses, etc.
Hi FatFreddysCat, I have no clue about such, so I really appreciate the answer, plus with non-violent games for sure! I will check those out. Thank you so much!
My son, who is 6, loves all the Angry Birds games. He also enjoys Minion Rush, Cut the Rope, Fruit Ninja and Flow Free.
You could also do a search in the Play Store for something she is interested in and see what games there are for that character. We found some awesome Lightening McQueen matching games that way.
Hi Krysanthe, Thank you so much for answering. I will check all of those out. I appreciate the added info about search in the Play Store. When I pick up my grands for a long weekend, during the long ride to my home, she always asks about the games!
Tic TacFree is entertaining. Candy Crush is a fun game that my 7 yr old granddaughter enjoys. Also Talking Tom, my 1 yr old and 7 yr old both enjoy Tom as does Grandma Sunshine
Hi Sunshine, Oh, wow, thank you so much for answering here! I will check them all out for them and myself too LOL
My granddaughter, aged 7 years likes "Subway Surfer" - this is a fast-paced, action game. She also like Toki Tori, which is a puzzle game and you can get some good free games if you search under "Lego". There is one for rescuing people, which is his age. My younger grandchildren like the "trains" and "peek a boo". She and the younger ones all like Talking Tom.
Hi DreamerMeg, Thank you so much for answering. Oh, wow, I appreciate all of your great suggestions here. I will certainly check them all out! Blessings
Definitely the simple games like Angry Birds and Temple Run will be lots of fun, you could also try some puzzle matching games (but simple ones) like Doodle Find or Frozen Free Fall (based on the latest Disney movie).
You could also try some of the Fantage apps. It's a popular virtual world design for children as young as five and they've turned some of their popular games into apps.
Hi ilikegames, I love your hubber name and you would know about games it seems! Thank you for the great suggestions here. Yes, puzzle matching games would be great too.
Beware of 'free' download games before you do it. Always check them out very carefully. Many are rip-offs and end up charging for their so-called 'free' games. I have read this officially from the Federal Trade Commission, for one of the sites which I have checked.
Thanks for the heads up, Kevin. I just saw something last night that stated Amazon was being sued for allowing children to download free games up to a point, then they charge, and the child will just click okay not knowing they are charging!!!
I know, I read about that on the FTC warning site. I also saw it on AT&T/Yahoo! site.
One mother had $300.00 charged to her account without her knowledge as her child just click okay. We must be mindful to watch all of this closely as relates to the "free" games. Oh, thanks for choosing my answer as best on one of your questions.
Ouch! I hope that she got that straightened out.
You are welcome on the answer.
Yes, I think she did as Amazon is now being sued for allowing such to happen to many, up into the millions!
Of course, it is up to the parents and grandparents to monitor exactly what the children are doing.

What are the best games to play while on a road trip?I'm taking a multi-day road trip for Thanksgiving with my girlfriend and her three children, ages 8-12. We are traveling from Texas to Utah. What are some good games to keep them occupied...and maybe even quiet?
