What games do you like that others hate?

Be it cult classics or just quirky games that you have to admire, I'm sure there's one game out there you love but most others hate it to no end. I'm not just talking about games critics didn't like but fans of previous instalments of a series or those who had high expectations. A few examples of mine would be Super Mario Sunshine (critics loved it, players not so much), Viking: Battle for Asgard and Kingsley's Adventure. What are the games you love but others loathe?

Let see here I guess final fantasy X-2 a lot of people hate that game but I do enjoy it even if the story is goofy.

A game I know is crappy but offers a good story if you like the anime is from is the Inuyasha RPG on the PS2. Curse of the sacred mask or something like that. Ugly graphics, slow gameplay, but the story hit the mark most of the time and it had the humor that the show was known for.

I quite liked FFX-2, but I can't for the life of me think why. I've never played Inuyasha but if it remains true to source material I think that's what truly counts. ^^

I liked FFX-2 mainly for the dress sphere battle system and the music.

Slaves of Armok 2: Dwarf Fortress.
Never has a game been so amazing after the learning curve, while simultaneously being the hardest to get into. Learning hot-keys, variables, defenses, and the highly detailed combat, it takes a lot of work just to try and get to the fun part of the game. Try if you dare, but getting past the menus is difficult in itself. I recommend the DF Masterwork mod, as it makes the game four times as big.

Sounds like a very interesting game! I'm not one to play difficulty, but I can't refuse your challenge of "Try if you dare" ^^

I liked Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, even though most people thought it was too much of a departure from the series. Even though it was gritty and angsty, I felt that it was a logical progression of the story and that it still retained the core concepts that worked well in Sands of Time. Also, Mario Kart: Double Dash. I think a lot of people regard it as a low point in the series, but I love co-op games, so I had a blast.

I LOVED the Battlezone remake for PC.
It was an excellent game, and despite a host of accolades from magazines nobody seemed to buy it.

It is quite complex to get into, there are lots of keys to master and it is a mix of 3D arcade action and RTS. It really was quite something special back in 1998.

It looks very dated nowadays, but the playability remains. The AI is very impressive for the late 1990's too.

If you haven't played it please try and give it a go
