LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2013 - The newest limited edition holiday countdown

Like previous holiday calendars pairing the iconic toy maker with the galactic galaxy, this one again offers 24 days of LEGO Star Wars fun. Each day you'll open a window to find a new gift. This year's kit includes 6 minifigures and 3 droids, including an exclusive holiday-themed figure that is not sold elsewhere.

Star Wars fans will enjoy opening windows to find mini kits to build vehicles such as Dooku's Solar Sailor, Coruscant Freighter, Cloud car, Republic gunship and Attack cruiser. It also includes AT-TE, Republic Dropship, Geonosian Starfighter, Naboo Cruiser, Neimoidian Shuttle, Jedi Starfighter and Slave I.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Advent Calendar (9509) - New for 2012 Holidays

Although the original (20111) LEGO Star Wars Advent calendar is still available, a new calendar has been released for 2012. It includes 9 LEGO minifigures (including 2 holiday-themed Star Wars minifigures) and two vehicles (mini Gungan Sub and General Grievous' Starfighter) among the 24 days of gifts.

Previous LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar - 2011 and 2012 Star Wars Advent Calendars are still available

Although the 2011 and 2012 LEGO Star Wars Advent calendars are still available, each one is a limited edition that won't be produced forever. So if you're interested in these calendars, don't delay.

The best thing about the 266-piece limited edition LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar may be the Santa Yoda minifigure. But the fun doesn't stop there. With LEGO set 7958, you'll have "galactic festive fun" opening a window every day to discover 24 little LEGO Star Wars goodies, including eight minifigure, a mini Millennium Falcon and a mini X-Wing Starfighter.

The 2012 set includes 9 LEGO minifigures (including 2 holiday-themed Star Wars minifigures) and two vehicles (mini Gungan Sub and General Grievous' Starfighter) among the 24 days of gifts.

And more reasons to love this Advent calendar

If you love LEGO Star Wars, that's probably enough reason to get the 2011 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar. But if you need to be convinced, here are some of the comments from Amazon reviewers:

- This is a great product ... very fun for kids and parents of all ages,

- If you've never "done" a Lego Advent Calendar, you're missing out.

- If I had to pick one toy that has stood the test of time with my son, it would be Legos.

- Lego Means "Play Well" and Star Wars Means It's Awesome

- Overall, a good set and highly recommended.

LEGO Star Wars Dictionary - Everything you ever wanted to know about LEGO Star Wars

In case you're not already versed in the LEGO Star Wars universe, this book will get you educated in a jiffy.

LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary

Geek Monthly said, ""After what seems like dozens of 'visual dictionary' books about the Star Wars universe, DK Books (and author Simon Beecroft) gets down to the stuff we really care about -- Star Wars Legos. Not only are they excellent gateway drugs to slowly suck your children into the Sarlacc Pit of Star Wars collectibles, but you can bust them up into a million pieces and then put them into something completely different -- try that Transformers! This profusely illustrated volume follows the DK Visual Dictionary format, supplying basic lingo about all the SW characters and vehicles, plus details on the Lego versions..."

They seem to be very popular. When you combine a popular toy with a closely held tradition, it spells success.
