10 Immune System Boosting Techniques – Boost Your Immune System Naturally to Remain Disease Free

Updated on December 27, 2011

If your plan is to remain disease free and healthy, then you have landed on the right page. For that, you need to start strengthening your immune system which is definitely the only system in our body that keeps us well, virtually free from every disease. Everyone knows that our body is efficient enough to heal on its own and remain disease free but for that, it needs good immune support so why not start boosting it naturally by following the below mentioned 10 immune system boosting techniques. Now go ahead, read, and apply these techniques in your daily life to get natural immune support for your body to be able to remain disease free:

1. Getting antioxidant support from food

If you take food supplements, take them in small doses. A few immune system boosting vitamins are vitamin B6, vitamin E, vitamin C, beta-carotene, and bioflavonoids that are available in the form of fruits and vegetables. Include them in your diet and strengthen your immunity.

2. Getting minerals support from food

Top immune system boosting minerals are zinc, sulphur, molybdenum, calcium; magnesium, selenium, and iron (excessive iron decreases immune response), but except that include other minerals in your diet to strengthen your weakened immune system.

3. Following a low-fat high-fiber diet

Consume high-fiber low-fat diet because fiber has a tendency to bind with fat inside our intestinal tract which in turn causes excess fat to be eliminated from body via excretion. Excess fat in body causes morbid obesity which can lead to many types of serious illnesses if not treated on time. Excessive fat deposition in the body is also a big hurdle in building a strong immune system.

4. Getting support from natural herbs and spices

Include these herbs and spices in your diet, mushrooms, garlic, shitake mushrooms, echinacea, ginseng, licorice, aloe vera, saffron, ginger, astragalus, green tea, cumin, wheat grass juice, turmeric, and barley grass juice. All these are natural immunity boosters.

5. Boosting immunity with exercise

A few immune system boosting exercise techniques are yoga, Pilates, mixed martial arts, dance aerobics, gymnastics, Zumba dance, etc. Doing any two of these combined together four times in a week enhances immune system response. If you are doing mixed martial arts, then that’s even better as one set of MMA workouts burns lots of calories. For rest of three days in the week, you can do 15-minute combined exercise consisting of chin ups, stretches, push ups, and pull ups, just give three to four minutes to each workout and you are ready for your office.

6. Stress-reduction techniques

Wake up early in the morning and meditate, take a cooling bath, perform diaphragmatic breathing, start thinking positively, write a blog, do some recreational activities, try ice breakers in office (an ultimate stress relieving technique). These activities take your mind away from daily routines and scheduled tasks keeping you refreshed and stress free for rest of your day.

7. Positive attitudes and beliefs

Start developing a habit of positive attitude towards life in general. Keep away from bad company, hostile and suicidal thoughts and feelings. Enhance listening skills, learn forgiveness, be tolerant, laugh at yourself, be confident, learn assertiveness skills, etc.

8. Avoid toxins - live green

Avoiding air and noise pollution is not possible but try to avoid toxins like tobacco, alcohol, antibiotics, ultraviolet light, and heavy metals. Keeping away from all these is in your own hands.

9. Give a cause to your life

Start seeking pleasures in life, sleep well at night and be active during the day, a small nap in the afternoon is okay. Join a support group and indulge yourself in traveling, searching internet, art and craft, etc. All these things can be called neuro immune boosters helping keep your mind fresh and light enhancing metabolism and immune response in the body.

10. Start using natural krill oil supplements

It is interesting to note that krill which is a bioluminescent animal has become the most healthiest source for getting omega-3 fatty acids. This in combination with various other benefits of krill oil has made it a top selling immune boosting oil in the world. Krill oil enhances immune system naturally and has been fast outdating fish oil which was one of the major sources of omega-3 fatty acids.

So above were 10 natural immune-system boosting techniques that can help you remain disease free. Following above mentioned natural techniques is very beneficial but using any immune system boosting drugs and pills is not really recommended, as these unnatural techniques have risks and side effects in the long term. Instead of these, you can try other options like natural immune system boosting juices, smoothies, meals, and recipes. Live natural, let others live natural.

I think there is no disease in the world. It is due to diminishing immunity that one falls sick. Build up and boost immunity - and I am sure one will never fall prey to infections and viruses. As oxidation process rusts the iron and enamel works as an oxidant - similarly antioxidant save the human body for ageing or what we call as oxidation.

@psychicdog.net, thank you so much for your comment and visit. Yeah I know these herbs are delicious and I also prefer consuming herbs and spices rather than food supplements just like you. Thanks for reading this article in such a detail.

Now for your doubt regarding iron, yes it is a very less known fact that excess of iron reduces immunity, also too much iron increases production of harmful free radicals. Also according to this article http://www.naturalpedia.com/I/Iron-excess.html Excessive iron can damage immune cell activity, damaging heart, liver, and pancreas, so it's better to intake iron in moderation. Actually eating a balanced diet well equipped with required minerals, vitamins, and other herbs is the best way.

Liked these tips Sonni - I didn't know too much iron can cause a reduction in immunity and the spices and herbs to include made my mouth water just reading about them. YUM! I won't mind boosting my immune system with these on the list. I have to say I prefer them to supplements.
