7 Post-Panic Attack Songs to Make You Feel Safe Again
Lovely - Billie Eilish and Khalid
"Hello, welcome home"
Billie Eilish - a beautiful young (she's 16!) singer and Khalid, the singer of Location, join forces to make this beautiful song. There isn't really another way to describe this song other than simply beautiful.Billie and Khalid's voices work so well together, they'll give you shivers. The piano and strings are powerful but not so powerful that they'll send you into a state of shock. This duet is amazing and personally my favourite.
Moon River - Frank Ocean
"Wherever you're going, I'm going that way"
Frank Ocean's cover of this classic song made me feel so warm and secure. His voice is like being told a bedtime story, paired with the strings is just a match made in heaven. His creative take on the song honestly shows how much talent he has. He took a classic and made it modern, yet he didn't ruin it. Again, this song is incredibly powerful - yet peaceful too.
Japanese Denim - Daniel Caesar *Explicit*
"Forever's a long time."
Daniel Caesar's voice is unlike anything I've heard before. This is the type of song you'd want to slow dance to! I was so surprised to be so calmed by the drums and beat. This song is so unique compared to any other soul/ R&B song I've heard in a while. The lyrics are incredibly meaningful and it'll make you feel guarded and happy.
Love Galore - SZA ft Travis Scott *Explicit*
"Long as we got, love."
"Sza's voice is so beautiful! She's honestly one of the best female R&B artists I know. Travis Scott's voice is incredibly soothing and paired with SZA makes a beautiful instrumental from the song to the rap. This song will put you in a really good mood and is also a great summertime song.
Spotless Mind - Jhené Aiko
"We're just alive and alright"
Jhené Aiko's voice is so delicate and works perfectly with the instrumentals. I usually don't like repetitive songs but this one is so perfect. Her soft instrumentals and vocals paired together with such powerful lyrics makes a perfect song. It's a little like a lullaby.
My Boy - Billie Eilish
"My boy loves his friends, like I love my split ends and by that I mean - he cuts them off"
Another Billie Eilish song! This young artist's song is incredibly different and unique to any other alternative-style song I've heard before. Her lyrics are incredibly clever and her voice is very soothing yet the song will still put you in a good mood!
Avenue - H.E.R.
"I just need to know that it's still mine"
This is the first H.E.R. song I've heard. Her voice is so incredibly beautiful and deep. It's so calming and has a "silky" vibe to it. This is also a great song to study/work with it on in the background since it's so delicate. The beat is really great and fits her voice perfectly.
