HOW TO RELEASE STRESS AT WORK

Updated on April 16, 2020
  1. Talk to other office mates Some office mates may be hard to deal with but I'm sure you have at least a friend. You can talk about funny stuffs especially if your co-workers have great sense of humor. And it also helps lighten your burden if you have somebody whom you can talk to when working.
  2. Surf the net. Some offices prohibits surfing the net but most of them allow this at break time. You can play online games (I personally love www.orageshark.com) or read magazines like www.cosmopolitan.com or visit other interesting websites.
  3. Have a snack. It may help to have a jar of cookies at your locker or some sweets to give you that energy burst as we all know that sugar releases enzymes that makes us feel happy. Don't forget that chocolates have this great effect to uplift that spirit. If you're a lot hungrier and still have plenty of time to eat, why not call for deliveries like www.kfcdelivery.com or www.mcdonaldsdelivery.com.
  4. Exercise. You can stretch your arms do squat on your table if you like. Or like my guy office mates, they have dumbbells in the locker and they secretly lift weights during break time. Within a month I noticed that they're already developing nice muscles and they haven't paid any monthly fee on the gym to get that.
  5. Take a nap. A quick nap are already proven to really boost our energies. But make sure you do it on break time. We do not want to take naps at home after we got caught and fired.
  6. Read. There are some light materials that you can read on the office or if you want you can read a page on your latest pocket book. Well, it really depends on your mood but it helps you to be distracted from office stress.
  7. Take a walk. What's nice about my job is that you really need to walk in order to visit the floor that I supervise. Believe it or not I have reached up to the 15th floor without using the elevator. It's pretty tiring but it helps me sleep well at night. But some of the offices are near to parks and malls. You might want to observe people, or your surrounding, ponder on some happy thoughts and just relax.
  8. Switch to comfortable slippers. If your job requires you to sit down at your table most of the time and your feet were unseen, might as well change to a flat and soft slipper after arriving at the office. It also save you from nasty and painful health effects of wearing high heels.
  9. Call your loved ones. I believe that this is one of the most relaxing tip. Just hearing the voice of your boy/girlfriend or your family makes us feel relaxed. And its also beneficial to your relationship because it shows you concern and love care for them even if you're busy at the office. Just quick exchanges of sweet nothings makes us feel like high school once again. LOL.
  10. Go home early. If you really are stressed and overwhelmed at your workplace and its time to log out, just do it even if its just a minute after your work time. You are now free from a stressful place and have plenty of time doing what you love to do. It also gives you a lot of time to plan your day tomorrow after you are away and are relaxed so you can combat those work stresses away.
