Best Online Meditation Courses So Far!
Mindflo 11
For anyone interested in learning to meditate online, I've tried a few courses in my time but these are my favourite three so far:
1. For absolute beginners who just want the basics then I suggest . . .
http://www.onlinemeditation.org
"Sahaja Yoga Meditation online course will take you on a journey in which you will learn the first steps towards the purest form of meditation, Sahaja Yoga Meditation. All knowledge and experience are introduced through videos and audio guided meditations. All the images, music and sounds of nature are so chosen to help guide you and to give you a feeling of peace."
In terms of a free course, this is probably the nicest one I've found. It is essentially a traditional Indian style of meditation, and there's a lot to be said for working in an established tradition, but it does lack a bit of relevance to modern living.
2. For those looking for something that will take them from the very basics all the way through to advanced meditation, this is the one . . .
"The Aro Meditation Course was created to make it as easy as possible for anyone to develop a regular, daily meditation practice. From the comfort of your own home, you can learn to meditate with a group of like-minded people, all striving for the same goal."
By far the best online course I've followed (and still do). Very good teaching, very thorough and suited to modern living. The first week is free and then the remaining weeks are paid. The only thing with this one is after the initial 4 week Foundation Course where you do 4 online sessions a week, you need to rely on your own self-discipline as you only get one session per week for the remaining time.
3. For those looking for a strictly Western, science based approach . . .

A brilliant and free introduction to modern mindfulness training known as the MBSR course (Mindfulness Based Stress Relief), taught all over the world and becoming more and more popular. Different to the Aro course you need to rely on your own self-discipline for this one, but if you can work through it it's a great collection of skills to pick up.
I hope you found this useful. I got a lot out of all three of these courses and I hope you will too!
