Bring It: P90X Day 78

Updated on December 20, 2011

P90X is an extreme workout. But if you are looking for results, it might be the answer you have been searching for. P90X was created by Tony Horton, based on the concept of muscle confusion. While he provides the tools, you are expected to bring it each and everyday. While the object is to push play, just showing up is not going to get you the results you want. You have to push yourself. The last three reps of each exercise is were the magic happens. Then, with the 12 DVDs, there is enough variety to really max out the results.

If you would like to start from the beginning of this series, please click here. If you want to read about my previous day with P90X, click here.

Feel free to leave your comments below. This is meant to be interactive and not only inspire but help motivate others. I thank you for taking the time to participate.

P90X isn't for those who just want to show up. If you want results you need to actively participate!

Bring It

Today was an exciting day. Well, what can I say.. every Monday is an exciting day. Why? Because it is results day. I love and hate results day because while I expect some results - I don't always know how good they will be. However, I can usually tell throughout the week if I have had a good week. If I have been watching my nutrition and tracking what I have eaten, I can literally feel the pounds melting off.

On another note, today was also the first day of Winter vacation for my kids. This meant my morning wasn't as hectic. They slept in; I went back to bed. So I got plenty of sleep. I was well rested. I eventually got my workout in later in the morning and I pushed it. I could feel my body coming to failure with each and every exercise. It was awesome.

However, today's workout was Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. This one is filled with push ups - which I loathe. Yet I celebrate because I am closing down on this whole P90X adventure. That means this is the last time during this roudn that I will be doing this workout. Yeah - no more odd push up movements that I can barely do!

And the results are in...

Going off of the same theme of the holidays, there are 6 days left until Christmas. So, just a friendly reminder, if you haven't finished with your holiday shopping - now is the time to do it.

And now onto the results...

  1. Weight lost since the beginning - 13.6 pounds
  2. Body Fat Percentage lost since the beginning - 3.1% lower
  3. Inches lost since the beginning - 15 inches (remember I measure both sides)
  4. BMI points dropped - 2.1 points dropped (a difference between obese and overweight)
  5. Pants sizes down - 2 sizes smaller (3 sizes if you just say buttoned and not looking decent)
  6. Mental mood - A complete 180

So with that in mind.... I hope to still be able to see some sort of results next week. This is going to be a very tempting week as I am in the process of my holiday baking, will probably be indulging in way too much food, and will even drink some of my calories! So, to counteract this as best as possible I am going to...

  1. Continue with my workouts
  2. Listen to my body
  3. Snack on veggies and fruit first instead of high calorie appetizers
  4. Drink lots of water beforehand
  5. Eat breakfast beforehand so I am not starving myself to only overindulge
  6. Enjoy my holiday and not stress over it.

So there you have it - 2 lists for the price of 1! Hope everyone is not to stressed before the holidays. And if I don't see you until afterwards... Have a Merry Christmas!
