BrokenHeartSix (how to mend a broken heart)

GOAL-SETTING

Setting goals is one of the best ways of filling your time and taking your thoughts and considerations away from the negative emotions you are facing. It's a great time to grab the bull by the horns and to do some of those things that you have been planning to do for years. This is the chance to get things done, to feel better about yourself and to prove that you can do things on your own.

Goal-setting...and heading constantly towards those goals...and reaching those goals...is a wonderful thing to do with your life at any time. In times of personal anxiety and unsurety it gives you much more to focus on and it can only help to improve your life in lots of great ways.

So...goal-setting here we come.

Goals are visions...and the more you move towards those visions the more successful you will become. If you want to flourish and achieve the positive visualisations you set up for yourself you need a plan. These visions and goals and plans must be tailored to suit your own personal needs depending on what exactly you want to make fortune of.

You might want to be more successful at work...you might strive for better personal confidence or self-esteem. Maybe you want to shed some pounds or find a new job. Your aim might be to give up smoking or drinking....or perhaps you just want to chop that unruly forsythia bush down in the garden...or fix that leaking washing-machine. These are all goals...big or small...crucial or whimsical...and they will all play their part in leading your thoughts away from the gloom of heartbreak.

Set the goals out....buy a nice new goals journal and write down your plans and then break them down into achievable stages. Remember that old saying which states that you can't eat an elephant all in one go...you have to break it down into bite-size pieces. This relates perfectly to goal-setting. How many times have you heard someone say 'I am going to write a book one day'? How many people say 'Yes...I'm going to make an album'? or 'I'm going to be a famous actor'? They've set themselves up for a fall immediately because they've made intentions for the main prize straight from the outset. They've made their claim to be the author, the world-famous rock star and the highly successful actor before even giving thought or consideration to the bits inbetween.....the writing, the re-writing, the practicing, the sleepness nights, the sacrifices by day, the perseverance, the training, the hard work, the constant re-adaption, the rejection, the failures, the mistakes, the re-writing (again), the financial outlay, the meticulous planning, the speculative abandonment, the sheer determination...and all the rest of it.

Goal-setting is the key....and now's the time to start.
