Churches and Civic groups switching to Big Berkey to supply clean water for events

Updated on October 17, 2011

Large Groups need lots of water for group functions and events.

Churches and civic groups have long had a responsibility to provide their patrons with clean and safe food and water. With so many events taking place, many had relied on bottled water to provide others with fresh water. With lots of bottled water to choose from, it seemed like the right type of thing to do for these groups. However, as it turns out, bottled water isn't the best water to give to anyone.

Bottled water is not always as clean as you might want.

There have been several studies done that show that bottled water is often contaminated.

These studies find that the sources of bottled water are often not as they claim. Bottles with pictures of mountains and streams are often found to contain water that comes from a tap, and bottles that claim to be imported from remote destinations might indeed be found right in your backyard.

For churches and civic groups, this means that the water they serve to people at events from bottles could come from just about anywhere, and could be very dangerous.

Bottled water is NOt as regulated as municipal water sources and testing can be done as infrequently as once a month

In the United States, there are several reasons for this. First of all, while the FDA does monitor bottled water, it has no jurisdiction over water that is bottled and sold within the same state. Therefore, because about 60 or 70 percent of bottled water is actually bottled in the same state where it is sold, this water could be anything.

For churches and civic groups, who provide water to hundreds of people during events and on a daily basis, using plain old bottled water isn't the best idea. More and more, these groups are switching to Big Berkey, in order to supply clean water for events while reducing pollution and the additional plastic to the local landfill.

Big Berkey Gives Clean water to hundreds for a fraction of the cost of bottled water - and less envirornmental impact

There are several reasons that churches and civic groups are switching to Big Berkey. First of all, Big Berkey water filters take the natural tap water and filter it of chemicals and diseases, making it healthy and safe for those that are drinking it. The process is very simple as well.

Easy to transport and use with any water source

Big Berkey water filters don't require any other type of plumbing, they simply are gravity fed purifying systems. They are quick to set up, and very easy to use after they have been set up. They can provide a church or civic group with 24 gallons or more of safe drinking water each day. They've also been used by many of the world's charity organizations, and with good reason.

Big Berkey water filters take the water that is already there, such as water from the hose, lakes, streams, or wells. This means that not only will there be safe and clean water, but they'll be safe and clean water that doesn't need to be brought in for any event. The design itself uses gravity, so there is no need to buy expensive replacement pumps.

Safe Clean drinking water for a long long time

The filters are super long lasting too, and with proper care and cleaning can last up to 60,000 gallons. The unit is also made out of stainless steel, which is sanitary and easy to clean. It will also last much longer than plastic.

Independantly Tested and proven to filter out bacteria and chemicals

Big Berkey is great for churches and civic groups because it has also been tested. The filters have been tested by Spectrum Labs, The University of Arizona, Clare Microbiological, Loughborough University, and Hyder.

This rigorous program of independent testing means that each function of the Big Berkey water filter has been tried and tested, and has passed the examination.

Safe for young children, the elderly and those with compromised immune systems like people going through chemotherapy

Churches and civic groups cater to all kinds of people and to all sorts of groups of people as well. Even one contaminated bottle of water can cause great illness amongst a population.

Also, contaminated bottles of water can be extremely dangerous for young children and infants, as well as elderly people. They can make people who are already sick, or have compromised immune systems, such as HIV and AIDS sufferers, even more sick.

Safe and clean drinking water is important for every event, and is easier than every before!

Churches and civic groups often work with populations of people who would suffer and even have major health problems from contaminated drinking sources. Therefore, these groups can have the peace of mind that comes from using something as safe and trustworthy as Big Berkey water filters.
