How to Choose Cool and Comfortable Shoes for Pregnant Women. When you are pregnant you can still look cool. Comfortability specially in the clothes and shoes you are wearing is a must. You don't want to trip over or fall over because it is bad for you. Tripping or falling over specially when you are in stair when you are pregnant is dangerous as a fall may cause trauma to the baby and may induce miscarriage. Furthermore you want to move at ease when you are pregnant, it is difficult walking and doing the usual stuff you are doing if you are not comfortable with your shoes.

In this hub, I will discuss how to choose cool and comfortable shoes for pregnant women. Depending on the weather, you can choose the shoes when you are pregnant. Preferably flat shoes are good for pregnant women.

Flat shoes -- flat shoes are nice as you can move faster and at ease plus it gives you the feel of easiness and you can move as freely as you want specially when you are out and about and anywhere you go. There are available flat shoes like ballet shoes, open or close as well.

Specifically I like the the shoes like the ballet flat shoes those with a very thin heel or the appearance of no heel at all. You can still choose shoes which are cool and comfortable. When choosing shoes when you are pregnant remember these things :

  • Comfortability --- the feeling of being "at ease"
  • should have allowance as the feet of a pregnant women may expand due to water and sodium
  • shoes which allows you to move fast
  • limits the danger of tripping and falling over

Some ways on how to take care of your feet when you are pregnant :

  • avoid standing for long hours
  • Put your feet up or elevate them every time you have a chance as this limits the possibility of varicose veins. This is also good for the circulation of the blood in the feet
  • You can buy a foot scrub or oil massage for soothing purposes
  • Foot spa creams can be bought anywhere at general store or pharmaceutical stores
  • Keep your feet cool and dry always that is why sandals are good for pregnant women. Usually, people wear "sandals in warmer climates or during warmer parts of the year in order to keep their feet cool and dry".
  • An open shoes are advisable to avoid athletes foot specially if your feet sweat a lot.

Sport shoes are good for pregnant women -- You should have one at least one shoes like sports shoes which can be paired with a maternity pants. Some women go for walks and they use walking as a form of exercise and yes women need to walk when they are pregnant so that they can have easy exercise and walking is also good for the feet and circulation of the blood in the feet. Sport shoes are also good even when you just walk in the mall, go outside and do your usual activities.

  • Sandals are also good for pregnant women, they look cool and comfortable. Wearing sandals depends on the weather. Usually sandals consists of a "sole held to the wearer's foot by straps or thongs passing over the instep and around the ankle". The feet is exposed with sandals. Some women prefer sandals because of its easiness and comfort in warm weather or just a fashion style.
  • Yoga sandals are good and comfortable as well. Some women do yoga as a form of exercise when they are pregnant, but even if you are not pregnant they look cool.
  • People may choose to wear sandals for several reasons, among them economy and comfort in warm weather.

  • Flip flops are a simple type of footwear in with there is a band between the big toe and the other toes. These are cool shoes and this also depends on the weather. I wear flip flops even though i am not pregnant and it gives me some kind of freedom in my feet.


Clog shoes

  • Clog shoes are usually closed toed shoe with a heel not more than a couple of inches high but the heels are thick and are backless.

Evening shoes -- the heel would be wide, avoid the steep ones. At least one evening shoes with a one half inch heel is recommended for pregnant women. Sometimes we want to look sexy with more steeper and high heeled shoes but there is the danger of tripping over. You don't have to attend parties always, so one evening shoes is enough.



  • Mules look like a clog but they can be open at the back, some are classy and have high heeled while some are flat. Mules and clogs are almost the same
