Healthy Weight Loss Diet - What do you gain by weight loss?

A healthy weight loss diet is something people look for nowadays, as it has become common to find obese and over weight men and women everywhere. Weight loss is not just about diet alone. It’s all about your commitment to a sense of well-being and happiness.

You tend to think (everyone does) that if you lose weight, you are going to look good and in excellent shape. What else can there be to it? You don’t give as much thought to the ‘feel good’ factor of post weight loss as much as you do to the ‘look good’ idea. There is certainly much more to your life than just losing weight and looking great.

The ‘feel good’ factor is all about telling yourself that you need to make little changes in your daily routine like eating better and changing your lifestyle so you can feel really good. Have you ever given thought to altering your eating habits?

How to control your cravings

How about a bowl of salad in place of a hi-fat pastry? By eating a vegetable or fruit salad when you crave for a creamy cake, not only is your calorie-intake reduced and helps in weight loss, but the challenge that is involved in such a simple act as this makes you a stronger person. Drinking water while eating a piece of fruit also helps a lot in controlling cravings.

The will to control your cravings helps you to a great extent in your healthy weight loss plan. When you start on a healthy weight loss plan, you may be initially impressed by fad diets which, you believe, will help you succeed in achieving your goal. But the truth is that these fad diets don’t really help much with weight reduction, though you may see a rapid initial weight loss. Once you stop consuming such foods, you tend to gain weight immediately with no positive result in your weight loss mission.

You’ll have to look for a more fool-proof healthy weight loss method to lose weight and then to keep it off permanently.

Work-outs for your healthy weight loss plan

Exercise sparks off the release of the ‘feel good’ hormones like endorphins produced by the pituitary glands. Endogenous cannabinoids are released after a good work-out. This gives you a ‘high’ feeling like with use of drugs. But the effect is positive here and this is why you feel refreshed and full of energy after a good work-out.

Walking is the simplest exercise that you can do regularly and ensure good progress in your weight loss goals. Start walking a short distance initially and increase it gradually. Weight reduction aside, walking helps in relaxation and overall wellness.

So it can simply be said that a healthy, nutritious and well-balanced diet in effective combination with proper physical exercise can bring about more than expected results in your goal to achieve a healthy weight loss.

      The same here Nell. Especially as we get older I think the problem gets worse. But I have to admit that I am not able to control my craving for ice cream (very good food for weight loss haha), otherwise I am a good girl following a proper diet :) and going for long walks regularly.

      Excellent advice for losing weight the healthy way. I find cravings are much less severe when I drink water in addition to having a piece of fruit as a snack. Hope this motivates many to get started in losing weight.

      Short and concise but really lacks alot of information for those that are looking for emphasis to lose weight. As with a lot of weight loss hubs on hubpages it's a nice piece of writing- but lacks depth of information.

      Sorry but had to vote down. You're pitching yourself into a huge marketplace when it comes to weight loss so any hub on the subject really has to be phenomenally good (Sorry)

      I am always amazed when I go to Paris and eat full-fat cheese, meats, vegetables, fruits, etc. that I don't gain any weight. It's amazing how easy it is to eat well in a country like that. Who has cravings when you eat high quality food all the time? When we shopped in the market, I understood why the French are so healthy. Excellent quality food was available at very reasonable prices. The walk, eat well, and most of all - take pleasure at the table with their friends and family. We've lost all joy in eating here, exchanged for some formula of correct eating. When we returned and went shopping, it was amazingly disappointing to find the fruit hard as rocks and without flavor. Why would you buy gorgeous looking nectarines when they are rocks and will take 3-5 days to soften and perhaps rot before you eat them? If fresh fruit from all around the Mediterranean region can arrive daily in Paris, why can't we get that same quality here? When our food is so lacking in natural flavor, it's no wonder we turn to junk food and sweets to satisfy our brain!

      Rema, excellent article on Weight Loss Diet Plan. The one time in my life where I was a bit overweight (after having kids), I pretty much did what you outlined here, but eating a bit healthier and working out too. I just used the stationary bike we have in our house while my kids were napping for a half hour a day and can tell you I did indeed lose weight, but also did feel better. So your article is very true (at least for me). Have voted, shared and tweeted too!!
