How To Live A Happy, Positive and Simple Life

Updated on October 24, 2013

Living A Happy Life

All of us in today's world are so stressed out over many different things in our lives, one being just the everyday life we live. Stress of our jobs, things happening in our families lives, financial problems, being overwhelmed with large bills to pay and so many other thing that makes us unhappy.

With all this going on in our lives I tend to wonder how anyone could be really happy in the life.

I want to try and explain my feelings on how to live a Happy, Positive and Simple life all by changing our outlook on the way we live and think in our everyday life.

I have found over the past year and a half that I had a pretty negative outlook in my life and I contribute it mostly the being addicted to alcohol. Alcohol really brought me down and I am sure it has somewhat the same effect on other people as well.

When I stopped drinking alcohol I then realize that life can be good without the alcohol running and ruining my life for me. Yes, life is all that you make it and I had wasted so many years being and thinking negative, it was time to turn the hands and start being happy and positive once again.

How I manage to get to a happy state of mind was by my mind. Using the powerful brain that we were all given at birth I found that just changing my outlook on life started to make me feel happy again. Letting all the little things that used to upset me while drinking alcohol didn't seem so tragic after all. the alcohol made it seem worse than it really was, and then you know while drinking alcohol some of us might get those crying drunks right, and then we say oh poor little me.

Positive Thinking And Attitudes

I also have found that having a positive attitude helped with bring happiness into my life and it can do the same for just about anyone if you get out of the negative frame of mind you are in and start thinking positive thoughts.

You really wouldn't think that these two things would go hand in hand, but I have found out that you need one to have another. Be positive and be happy is my main goal in life now being clean and sober.  Positive thoughts bring positive results and with having positivity in your life you then start to be a happy person again.  How couldn't you be happy thinking positive thoughts.

Just try being happy thinking nothing but negative thoughts throughout  your day.  I really don't think anyone could be happy living with negativity in your life.

Living A Simple Life

Living a simple life is really quite simple if you put your mind into gear and think what makes you happy and what makes you sad or upset. Does being overwhelmed with many credit cards and huge monthly bills make you happy? No, I think you would be quite upset and truly down in the dumps with that hanging over your head, so the only thing to do is to do something about it.

You must think what you can do in order to live a simple life. You must stop spending on things you really don't need, but you just would like to have them for fun or to show off to others. Always remember showing off to others you feel a sense of pride and think those people possibly would envy you, but in the long run they really don't care and you and I are the ones that have to pay for all those things we show off to the others right?

We have to learn to cut down on those type of things and start to pay off what we have and downsize anyway you feel would be possible without jeopardizing your family or yourself. That is exactly what I did a few months ago and I couldn't be happier.

I'm downsizing and paying things off and starting to not buy on a whim just because something looks good to me. Those days are gone and I am starting to live the simple life, thinking positive that I can live the simple life and in turn by doing those things I am a much happier person by doing so.
