How To Manifest More Money Into Your Life

Updated on January 4, 2014

The Law of Attraction

If you have heard of the law of attraction and have wondered how you can use it to bring more money into your life, then this article is for you.

The law of attraction in simple terms:

Like attracts Like

What you think about most is what comes into your life most

So, if you think about money all the time; how come you aren't swimming in the stuff?

What Do You Really Feel About Money?

Just "thinking" about something isn't the key. The real power is in how you "feel" about something. While most people would say they want money and it would be great to have more; the truth is that they carry a negative association with money in the way they feel about it.

In The Secret they talk about how when you think about debt you bring about more debt.

When you stop to think about why you want more money, what's the answer? Why do you want it or need it? For most people they would say "to pay my bills" or "to get out of debt".

These answers tell more than just what you can see on the surface.

Generally when you owe someone money it isn't a happy feeling. You may feel that the utility company is charging too much for the service it provides. You may feel that the interest rate on your credit card is downright criminal. You might even have a simple feeling of just not having enough "there is just never enough money to go around".

How do you feel about rich or wealthy people? Are you happy for them? Does the thought of a millionaire (who isn't you) cause you to feel jealous or envious? Have you ever thought "Well, if I was rich I would be different than the other rich people"? Maybe you think they are greedy, selfish, spoiled, rude, or careless. Maybe you think they all do drugs or they all drink like fishes. Whatever it is you think about rich people affects the way you really think about money.

If money were a person, just think of how it would feel about how you really think and feel about it. "You're not enough, you're never enough. You're never there when I need you!" Wow, would you want to stick around someone who said that to you all the time?

Take a long, hard, real look at what you actually think and feel about money. As long as you hold onto your negative feelings about it; money isn't going to want to be your friend.

How Can I Change My Feelings Toward Money?

Step 1: Alter the way you look at the bills you pay.

Rather than being upset at the utility companies for charging so much more than you can afford to pay; think of how gracious they are for providing you with their much needed services in advance. You get the bill only after you've used their products or services. They make it possible for you to have: water, electricity, heat, air-conditioning, entertainment, clean clothes, clean dishes, music, and everything else that you enjoy as a result of what they provide.

Really dig down and appreciate every little aspect of how easy and luxurious your life is because of what the utility companies make possible. You have light, you have a toilet that flushes! How many things in your life, in your home, and in your day have you been just taking for granted and then complaining about the cost of once you get the bill?

In The Secret: The Magic it talks about how gratitude is the most powerful tool you have in altering the way you feel toward money and in bringing into your life that which you truly want most. Not that the series of "the secret" is the end all be all of guru answers, however, much of what is talked about hold true to positive thinking and self motivation.

Be grateful for what you have and for what the money you have has provided for you:

  • Food to eat
  • A roof over your head
  • A place to keep your food from spoiling
  • A toilet to flush
  • A bed to sleep in
  • A computer, the internet, phone service, television, movies to watch...
  • Water for your yard or garden
  • A hot shower!

When you can stop the cycle of feeling resentful toward the amount of your utility bills, the amount of your grocery bill, the amount of anything you pay for to have the life you currently have ~ and instead reach a point where you are truly grateful for everything you have, seeing it as a blessing; you are well on your way to where you really want to be. You are healing your relationship with the energy of money, wealth, and abundance.

Here, let me get that for you.
Here, let me get that for you.

Sneaky Tricks To Speed It Up

There are a few key tricks to speeding up the flip in the relationship you have toward money and wealth. The first of which is to exchange the word "money" for "abundant".

When you use the word "abundant" or "abundance" in your thinking, meditation, journal keeping, or goal making it has a good feeling attached to it. Abundance is a feeling word, money is not. Money causes you to think of different things attached to it, which may cause you to feel negatively. Feeling abundant feels good. You can look around and see all of the things you have in abundance right now:

Do you have an abundance of clothes, shoes, friends, pets, grass in your yard, water from your tap, newspapers, cups, dishes, or anything else? I bet there is at least one thing you can look at and think of which you can classify as abundant.

When you close your eyes to think about what abundance looks like and feel like it is more real than imagining money. It opens up the playing field to a whole new level.

~ The second trick (and I really love this one): Change the name "money"

Before I suggested that you think of money as a person, and asked how would that person feel about the way you think of them. We're going to take this one step further. Money isn't money anymore. Money is the hottest, sexiest, most "I wish I could date that person" celebrity you can think of!

So, money isn't money anymore. Money is a person. Now, when I go to the gas station to fill up my tank and I hand over my money to pay for it I imagine in my mind that when I touch the money it is someone I respect, admire, and have warm feelings toward. He takes my hand and looks at me with those fantastic blue eyes of his and says "Hey, don't worry about it. I've got this for you." Flashing his heart-fluttering smile.

Wow, yeah, I'm happy. I'm in a good place. I'm grateful for him buying my gas. I don't care how much it is per gallon ~ He has me covered! When a bill comes in the mail for a utility, you guessed it, he is going to take care of that for me too.

See I would want this fantastic person in my life, doing all of these wonderful things. If you are happily married you can even imagine it is your spouse doing all of these wonderful things for you. It could be an imaginary person who embodies all of the qualities you hold deer. The reasoning behind turning money into a person is to enhance your relationship with it in a way that causes welcoming feelings about money.

Being open and willing to accept money into your life, wanting it, appreciating it, and really being happy about it is easier when you take the title "money" off of it. Give it a different name. Give it a different face. Give it a different meaning!

You Have To Give To Get

The law of attraction states that you have to give first, get second. Does that mean that if you give a dollar you will get a dollar? No.

You can give gratitude for what you have. You can give thanks to the cashier who hands you back your change. You can give many positive feelings and actions toward money and about money without actually giving the money its self. Yes, it counts. It's all about feelings and vibrations remember.

Let's talk about Santa Claus for a moment. He has a list of naughty and nice kids, right? Well, the naughty kids get coal while the good kids get toys. Why is that? Because back in the day, coal was useful. It might not have been fun to play with, but you could heat your house with it. You could stay warm and cook a meal with it. Even when that naughty kid wasn't well behaved enough, wasn't grateful enough, wasn't respectful enough to get a toy; Santa still gave him/her something to be grateful for. It was just up to that kid to realize it.

So think about the universe as Santa. He wants everyone to be on the nice list, really, he does. He loves giving out toys to every good little girl or boy (no age limit). He likes when you are kind, loving, giving, compassionate, caring, understanding, and generous. He likes when you are appreciative, respectful, and use your manners. He likes when you leave out cookies and milk for him to say "thank you" for his visit.

You never had to give a gift to Santa in order for him to give one to you, but you did have to write him a letter to tell him what you wanted! Do that now. Tell the universe what you really want. Be grateful, be respectful, be kind. Give what you can in feelings and actions. If you see someone who needs help, stop and help.

Whenever you do anything in the spirit of giving and doing good while expecting nothing in return ~ that's when you've hit the sweet spot. That's when the universe puts you on the "nice list". That's when you will start seeing all of the changes in your life that you've been wanting.

Last Little Bit

Money isn't always money. I know that might sound strange at first, but hear me out.

When you ask for more money to come into your life, pay attention to what you actually have coming into your life. Almost everything can have a dollar sign attached to it. Sometimes you get things for free. Sometimes you get things in trade. Sometimes you get a coupon or a discount which saves you from spending more than you would have. All of these things can be seen as more money coming into your life.

  • when a friend or family member watches your child(ren) at no charge
  • when a neighbor gives you vegetables from their garden
  • when there is a sale on something you wanted/needed
  • when it rains right before you were going to water your garden or wash your car

Keep an eye out for these alternative ways that the universe is actually giving you what you've been asking for. Remember to appreciate it. Give thanks for it. Welcome each and every little thing with a happy heart. When you do this you will start seeing just how much you have been and are still being given these gifts.
