How To Quit Smoking In 9 Weeks

Updated on April 6, 2013

Quit Smoking

1. Figure out how much you smoke a day on average. Week one.

2. Take that number and smoke only that number of cigarettes for week two.

3. If your number of cigarettes is for example 15. Take your 15 cigarettes and cut off 1/2 of an inch off the end of each of them. That is week 3.

4. Cut off again 1/2 of an inch for week 4.

5. Repeat for week 5.

6. Repeat for week 6.

Now that you are smoking pretty much cigarette butts continue this with the 15 or whatever your number is for another 3 weeks. At the end of the 3 weeks purchase some nicorette gum 2 mg. Cut them in half and chew them with a flavored gum.

If you fail and have one, don't give up but just chew the gum. Have plenty of candies, mints on hand and carry a pencil around to play with. Get a new hobby, starting an exercise program or buying a tread mill the same time as you are quitting works best. You can get obsessed with the new thing. Get addicted to something else.

A few other tips:

-Drink plenty of water with lemon in it.

-Drink mint herbal teas.

-Brush your teeth more often.

-Don't tell everyone you quit. This causes more pressure and just talking about it makes you think about it more.

-Write down all the reasons why you want to quit and put them on a card. Keep the card handy and look at it often.

-Write down some motivitaional quotes that will help you stay on track.

You can do it because I know that you want to. You chose to read this article therefore you are ready!

Treat yourself with the money you saved. Get something new and exicting!
