The eye is one of the most sophisticated organs in the human body. It is comprised of several important parts that function in a way similar to the way a movie camera works. and thus we tend not to care about by making such abuses such watching too much on tv and my friend James Makker and i were enjoying reading your hub very informative
Aside from eating the right type of foods, it is also recommended to have enough and appropriate rest. Don't spend too much time before a computer monitor. Its radiation can damage your eyesight in the long run.

Hi, I remember reading about eye exercises years ago, and did try it for a time, but never kept it up, maybe I should give it another go, as I wear contact lenses, great info, bookmarked!

Dear Emma, thank for this hub, you did the right choice to put nutrition as the main key in the eye health. I can tell you that I was truly surprised to find out that some people in their late 70th got rid of cataracts just by chaning their nutrition to raw food! They did not even try to treat this eye problem, they were treating issues much more serious like cancer. Cataract disolving was just very nice side-effect from changing the diet completely.
I may argue with you a little bit about the supplements though. I would indicate that drinking freshly squeezed vegetable juice is much better for the overall health than just taking supplements.
I would also add to your list spine stretching which is extremely imprtant for the eye health (and overall health as well).

Interesting feature. Useful information too. I have to admit that I have been sitting in front of a computer for up to ten hours a day since 1984, and I still have perfect 20;20 vision eyesight and don't need glasses yet. While, I don't take the recommended breaks away from the computer, I do re-focus on distant objects frequently, which I think helps a lot. I am also a great believer in sea kelp tablets which help too...
