India is the home of natural remedies. There is a prevention and remedy for each and every disease in the pages of traditional Indian home remedies. Some of these home remedies are more effective than allopathic medicine. When you fall sick try these remedies. Indians have been traditionally using these remedies for varieties of diseases.

Natural remedy for asthma

If you have just noticed that you are suffering from asthma you have a home remedy to get rid of this problem. Boil 1 pod of garlic in 100ml of milk and drink before going to bed. Having this daily would save you from asthma troubles. This will not work if you are an asthma patient for long time. Having spices mix of ayurveda would also help you come out of asthma. Eating fennel seeds and carom seeds and drinking aniseed decoction and cinnamon decoction is found to help. Asthma patients can further have cinnamon honey mix as it would clear off allergies. Eat this honey cinnamon mixture early in the morning, in empty stomach.

Natural remedies for Head ache

Applying shallot juice (with salt) on forehead is the most popular Indian remedy for headache. Crush shallots with salt and apply on forehead. Adding a few cloves of garlic would give wonderful result. But garlic can burn your skin. I have migraine headache. Once I applied garlic. Even though it burned my skin I got free of headache for 6 months. Garlic is very effective. Cinnamon is a remedy for headache also. Grind cinnamon with little warm water and apply. Headache will go off. In winter when you go out you may get a head ache. This is due to cold climate. For such head ache cinnamon is a great remedy. Applying eucalyptus oil is a popular head ache remedy in India.

Back pain home remedies

Massing with mustard oil is expected to give a good result for back pain. In North India people extensively use mustard oil for pain in different parts of the body. Mustard oil warms body and alleviates pain. Eating cinnamon honey mix is an ayurvedic remedy for back pain. Garlic oil is also found to be giving a relief for back pain. Fry garlic in mustard oil and apply this oil on your back several times a day. This is found to the best remedy for backache. A soft massage with eucalyptus oil is also found to be effective for back pain. Having ginger and honey in warm water early morning in empty stomach is found to be giving an overall health, healing back pain and joint pain. Drinking lemon juice with salt twice a day would help back pain.

Arthritis pain home remedies

Mustard oil is the celebrated arthritis home remedy of Indians. Warm mustard oil before applying. Boiling garlic and black pepper in mustard oil before applying it gives wonderful result. This oil heats body and alleviates arthritis pain. Ginger honey diet in warm water early morning does help arthritis patients also. Including anise seed, fennel seeds and cardamom also help people with arthritis. Arthritis patients should avoid eating pumpkin, banana stem, radish and other body cooling foods. THESE ARE THE BODY COOLING FOODS THAT MUST BE AVOIDED.

Natural remedies for Body Odour

Applying turmeric paste in body before bath would eliminate body odour. Adding tomato paste to bathing water also would make you free from bad odour.

South Indian home remedy for cough and cold

Chukku kappi (dry ginger coffee) and rasam are the famous cough cold home remedy of South India. See the rasam recipe here. For making a ginger coffee, boil water and add dry ginger to it. Boil ginger for some time. Now add coffee powder. Ginger coffee is a wonderful remedy for cough and cold. Another remedy for cold is pepper turmeric milk. Boil milk and add ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder and ½ teaspoon of pepper powder. Drinking this milk for couple of days will cure your cough and cold. Mix of honey and shallot juice taken daily would alleviate cold symptoms.

South Indian home remedies for heartburn

Avoid tea and coffee. Eat ginger and garlic raw after meals. Chew and eat few fennel seeds and cumin seeds. Drink cumin seed water or ajwain water. Boil water with ajwain (carom seeds) or cumin seeds and drink. Make use of asafoetida in your dishes. Do not drink water with meals. Always drink hot water. Avoid cold water of all forms. Early morning in empty stomach have a drink of warm water with lemon juice added to it. This would help the elimination of waste from the body and help avoid indigestion. Heart burn will go off as a result.

Home remedy for mouth sores

Apply pepper powder and salt to the sore. Even though it burns when applying pepper, sore will no longer pain after the burn. Gargle mouth with salt water.
