Morgon Emory - The big day is on it's way starting tomorrow!
Day -8 begins tomorrow
Morgon starts his pretransplant tomorrow! We are all very excited to finally get this all underway.
Tomorrow starts Mo's pretransplant stuff. He starts off with 3 days of chemo and then 4 days of radiation. The day after the transplant, he will be given a "cell product" that will provide his body with some much needed healthy white cells that will help prevent infection while the stem cells go to work in his bone marrow making his new cells. Morgon's transplant day is set for January 26, 2012.
Lockdown will begin for Morgon tomorrow morning around 9:00 a.m. From then until his counts reach a safe point, he will have to remain in the hospital room. When his ANC reaches it's first okay point, he will be able to leave the room, with a mask on, to walk the floor. When the next level is reached, he will be closer to being discharged to the Ronald McDonald house. Morgon will still be required to wear a mask when outdoors and in public but at least he will be able to be out of the hospital once he reaches that level. Right now, we will take on the task of getting Morgon through the "conditioning therapy" phase of transplant.
In case you didn't read my previous hub on my 15 year old cousin Morgon Emory here is a link to that post. . . .

That hub tells more about Mo and who he is and how his battle has been so far. He is a strong and very brave young man and we are all looking forward to this being behind him!
For everyone reading, please say a prayer or two while my cousin is going through these though couple of weeks. Leave a comment or prayer for him in the comments section. There's so much we can do to "Get Mo Better!"
