Obesity Is Taking Over
We live in a time now, where we see more obese people, than we did twenty years ago. We live in a society that has gone fast food crazy. Eating a lot of fast foods, is the leading cause of obesity in America today. We, the people of America, need to figure out, how we can stop obesity from growing at such a rapid pace.
If you look at food chains like McDonald's, they no longer just sell a regular combo meal, but they have included in the menu, a combo meal where they say you can biggie size it. This biggie size combo is well over the serving size that our bodies are supposed to consume, however; It’s not just McDonald's, Burger King has the king size meal, and Wendy’s also has a biggie size meal. We as adults are not the only ones that are consuming these meals, but we have allowed our children to also consume these meals on a regular basis. processed foods are unhealthy, and plays a major role in the world of obesity. Processed foods are high in sugars, and carbohydrates which causes the body to store extra fat.
We as adults are setting a bad example for our Children. Did you know that according to the Latest report from the CDC, they say, "childhood obesity statistics showed that obesity in children, have more than doubled in the past 25 years, this means that today there are more than 10 million children in the US alone who are classed as being overweight or obese." Instead of feeding them good nutritious food, we give them fast food and lots of processed foods, we have to stop obesity and it starts with the adults, we can control what we eat, and set good examples for our children, so that they can watch and control what they eat as well.
Let’s get back to the basics and take control of our lives. We have somehow lost focus along the way. Obesity can shorten our life span, and also lead us into very serious health challenges which includes diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and strokes. Let us go back to eating from the 4 basic food groups, and exercise on a regular basis. Remember this, let us not live to eat, but let us eat right to live.
