Dengue Fever Signs & Symptoms

Break Bone Fever (Commonly known as Dengue) is a mosquito-borne disease. This is caused by the bite of Female Aedes mosquito. This mosquito acquires the infection from already infected people & transmits it to other people bodies for rest of their life. This disease is can lead to illness & in some cases, it can also cause death. So, its very important to have knowledge about the symptoms of this disease so that it can be cured ASAP.

Following is the list of Dengue Symptoms-

(a) At early stage-

 
Symptoms at Early Stage

Sudden-onset of fever (40 C/ 104 F). Fever is usually biphasic in nature, breaking and then returning for one or two days

Headache, pain behind the eyes
3
Muscle and joint pains
4
Swollen glands or skin rash that is similar to measles
5
Nausea, vomiting

If it is not cured at the initial stags then it can lead to the Critical stage.

(b) Following are the Symptoms of Critical stage-

 
Symptoms at Critical Stage

Fluid accumulation in the chest and abdominal cavity due to increased capillary permeability and leakage, which leads to depletion of fluid from the circulation and decreased blood supply to vital organs
2
Organ dysfunction and severe bleeding, typically from the gastrointestinal tract
3
Respiratory distress, rapid breathing, fatigue, restlessness
4
Severe abdominal pain
5
Persistent vomiting or blood in vomit

      I used to worry about this disease every time I went to St. Martin which was every year for 25 years!

      It's very common in sub-urban areas. The only way to avoid this disease is to stay away from dirtiness & keep our society clean.
