Stop Smoking For Good
There are many reasons why a person may want to quit smoking. Smoking is very unhealthy and very addicting. When you have decided that you want to quit smoking there are many things you may want to consider. Like, are you going to quit cold turkey, use nicotine supplements, or are you wanting to simply save money. You would not believe how many people write about quitting smoking when they themselves have not smoked in their life. Would you like to live a smoke free life? It is a very big accomplishment and a very good feeling once you have knocked that horrible habit.
One of the hardest ways to quit smoking is cold turkey (I know because this is how I quit). You have to be very strong willed and consistent. You have to decide that you are going to quit no matter what stressful thing may come up in your life. It may be wise for the first little while not to hang around people or places that allow smoking, this may help you to get over the addiction. If you can manage to not have a smoke for at least a week you will start to feel more in control of your addiction. This is going to be a long journey and I hope you can have the will to finish it through.
Another great way to quit is with nicotine supplements like nicotine gum or the new electronic cigarette,which allows nicotine to be shot into your lungs without all of the other horrible things that are in cigarettes, like tar and tobacco, and there is no second-hand smoke. Electronic cigarettes come in a variety of flavors like vanilla, menthol, tobacco, mint and more. I wish they had these when I was quitting. I think they may have been a very useful tool for quitting. Using nicotine supplements may have a large drawback. You may quit smoking but you are still addicted to the nicotine so it can still be difficult to kick the smoking habit for good. These are useful ways to help if you can not quit smoking cold turkey.
Saving Money is another good reason to quit. People who smoke one pack of cigarettes per day are spending upwards of seven bucks a pack, that is more than two hundred dollars per month, more than twenty four hundred per year, those are some pretty big numbers. Just imagine what you could do with that kind of extra money every year.
There may be many reasons why you would want to quit smoking. If it is for health reasons, or to keep the people you love from second hand smoke, or to save money. Those are all good reasons and will help you to finally quit that bad habit.
You will be happier, more healthy, and you will have extra cash for all of your hard work and when you finally quit you will have a great feeling of self worth and will be very happy with yourself.
