Introduction to the Top Herbal Remedies!
There are literally thousands of natural uses for herbs, which you can often find even just by walking down an overgrown path. With all these uses of herbs, it is really hard to learn about all their uses, but there are some fantastic simple herbal remedies which you can learn to keep your health in check!
In our top herbal remedies guide we will give you some great uses of everyday herbs, and which ailments they will help you through. Don't worry though, I will be keeping things simple, with herbs which can be found if not in your back garden, then in the closest high street store, or market.
As time progresses I will probably add to this list of the top herbal remedies, for now however I am going to start with some basics!
Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is one of the most commonly used herbal treatments for minor burns. Aloe Vera is one of the most commonly used herbal remedies that you can buy on the market, and can be taken in tablet form, or gel form. These are easily purchased from any local health store, and most major supermarkets will also stock Aloe Vera herbal remedies.
As well as buying the Aloe Vera from local stores it is also incredibly easy to grow your own. The Aloe Vera plant requires watering around only once per week, and will usually be fine sat on a window sill.
To treat a minor burn with Aloe Vera you simply need to take Aloe Vera tablets regularly, or apply an Aloe Vera gel directly to the burn. If you are treating directly from the plant, you simply need to break off a thick leaf and slice it open. There are two liquids which the leaf expels. There is greenish yellow sap which should be avoided, the inner leaf however gives a transparant liquid which can effectively be used to help treat burns and minor wounds.
For serious burns and you will need to seek medical attention, you can still however take Aloe Vera in tablet form to help the healing of medical treatments.
Aloe Vera can also be helped to heal minor cuts and rashes, as well as burns. The properties of Aloe Vera make it extremely suitable for soothing

Chamomile is one of the worlds most versatile herbal remedies. The flower can be taken in a number of ways, but is most commonly used as a herbal infusion in tea. Chamomile has been a well regarded herbal remedy for centuries, being used to help with everything from sleep deprivation, the common cold, diarrhea, eczema, inflammations, and even hemorrhoids.
Chamomile comes in capsule, creme and herbal infusion form, all of which are relatively effective herbal remedies, for a variety of ailments. All these herbal remedies can be purchased cheaply, and of course you can always grow your own Chamomile plants!
if you want to grow your own chamomile you must pick the flowers and allow them to dry out of direct sunshine. Once they have dried they can be steeped in just boiled water, before being strained to leave a perfect chamomile tea!
Chamomile infused tea is something that many people drink on a regular basis, since it's healing properties are fantastic, and can help prevent many problems, as well as heal them in the first place!
Ginkgo

Ginkgo is an old herbal remedy which has found new popularity for memory disorders, as well as diseases such as Alzheimer's. It is actually known as Ginkgo Biloba, and is the last remaining species from the Ginkgo family, the rest of which are now only known in fossils.
Ginkgo has a variety of uses, but is most commonly used to restore memory, and help to prevent dementia. On top of these mental benefits, ginkgo is also well known for its ability to restore peoples libido.

Cranberries are well known for their high nutritional value, and surprisingly high antioxidant capacity. This makes them a great way to not only fight infection, but maintain a healthy body.

Lavender is a very common garden shrub, and one which has some great properties for relaxation. While lavender can help you relax, it is also an extremely useful antiseptic and anti inflammatory herbal remedy. Lavender can be used in several ways, and easily grown in your back garden.
The lavender shrub will grow quite happily on it's own in most climates, with its beautiful flowers and distinguished leaves. Many gardeners grow lavender not just for medicinal purposes, but in potpourris, flower arrangements, and even moth deterrents for closets.
When it comes to lavender herbal remedies, lavender is often made in to balms and salves to prevent infection, and help healing.
On top of these healing properties, lavander herbal remedies, in the forms of herbal infusions, and bath oils, are often used for relaxion and to aid with sleep. A herbal infusion can be as simple as two or three flowers steeped in boiling water.
