This is brand of Cefuroxime axetil. It is a broad spectrum anti-biotic in cephalosporin medication class. It is a specially formulated for oral administration and only available as tablets and suspensions. This medication is used for urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia and skin infections. In addition, bacterial diarrhea can be treated with Ceroxim.

Uses of Ceroxim

This antibiotic kills wide variety of sensitive bacteria. It is commonly used in respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, and lower respiratory tract infections. In addition, it is commonly prescribed for skin and soft tissue infections such as cellulitis, abscesses and infected wounds. Ceroxim is also prescribed in urinary tract infections.

Side effects of Ceroxim

This medication is generally well tolerated and causes minimal side effects. However, it is known to cause gastro intestinal upset such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Diarrhea is common among children who are prescribed the suspension form of Ceroxim.

In addition, this medication sometimes causes allergic reactions such as hives, lip edema and shortness of breath. If the allergic reaction is severe then the patient need emergency medical treatment. However, serious allergic reactions are rare.

Other rare side effects include headache, dizziness, and sleepiness, and kidney failure, kidney pain, difficult in urination, excessive vaginal discharge, vaginal candidiasis and seizures.

Your doctor needs to know whether you have kidney, liver or seizure disorders before prescribing Ceroxim.

This medication should be taken as instructed by your doctor. Tablets should be taken as whole without crushing with a full glass of water. Suspension should be dissolved in boiled and cooled water. It should be properly shacked before use. It should be kept in a refrigerator once prepared.

      Was given Ceroxim 500 mg to take one per day after meals for the treatment of a Broncal infection after taking just on pill I experienced cold sweat followed by vomiting and diarrhea I thought I would die. After this episode I just got up and spitup more blood than before This pill box says Made in India and is blue. Going back to my Doctor in the morning and to the Pharmacy where I bought it
