Your Nervous System Coordinates Every Function of your Body

The role of the chiropractor is more than simply addressing low back pain and neck pain, it is a neurologically based healing profession. Chiropractic is an all-natural and non-invasive health care option. A chiropractor views a person’s health and well being in terms of their whole body, rather than focusing on a single area of the body in which the person has symptoms. Your brain and nervous system control and coordinate every muscle, cell, tissue, and organ in the body. Your nerves are the roadways and pathways for your brain to communicate with your body and vice versa. Misalignments to the spinal bones, even very small ones, can affect the performance of your nervous system, greatly reducing the quality of life. Pressure from the misaligned spinal bones will irritate and inflame the nerves exiting the spine, and create the dysfunction, aches, pains, numbness and tingling if left there long enough. Dysfunction of nerve impulses can lead to a multitude of health issues

Misalignments in the spine are referred to Spinal Subluxations. It is the job of the chiropractor to locate, analyze, and correct these vertebral subluxations. These subluxations are responsible for creating the nerve interference and dysfunction of the spine. Subluxations are commonly the underlying issues of many musculoskeletal, neurological, and cellular conditions.

Chiropractic has never been the treatment of a condition, but rather the correction of the root cause. By removing the spinal subluxation, the body can heal itself properly. In almost every case, the body needs the nerve interference removed, nothing else. The body is designed to be a self-healing, self-regulating organism. By conducting a complete and thorough analysis, the chiropractor can administer a specific adjustment to the spine to remove the subluxation/misalignment.

What is Neurologically Based Chiropractic Care?

While all chiropractic care looks to correct the spine to improve your health, neurologically-based chiropractic is different in that it functions exclusively on a model designed to maintain and preserve optimal, lifelong health.

While many chiropractic approaches provide effective temporary relief, true structural and functional correction has lifelong benefits. A Neurologically based Chiropractor recommends regular preventative care to maintain spinal health for a lifetime.

True Correction vs. Temporary Relief

The human body is an amazing, but incredibly complex machine. Just like your computer, if a single information pathway is out of place, it can cause an astounding number of functional problems. This neurological framework and its associated pathways begin in the brain and travel through your spinal cord and out to the peripheral nervous system. Without good spinal health, your brain experiences a sub-optimal connection with the rest of your body.

Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VCS)

The vertebral subluxation complex (vcs) is a serious condition that when overlooked, may be the underlying cause of health issues. It occurs when the spinal bones misalign in such a way that pressure is placed on the nerves and spinal cord. This condition severely limits the body’s innate healing abilities.

Preventative Health Care

Neurologically based Chiropractors believe that health is a complete state of wholeness in which your body can adapt to its ever-changing needs and respond to those, innately. Chiropractic care is a long-term form of preventative health care that allows your body to maintain your nervous system health for a lifetime. Preventative health care focuses on the health of your entire nervous system.
