What do you think of the addition of a sub-category Social Communication Dis in the DSM5?
The DSM4 is being changed for DSM5 in diagnostic criteria for ASD. What are some concerns and fears these changes will do? Are there any benefits you can see? Do you know how they have addressed the concerns and if they have modified any of the changes? Please feel free to give as much information as possible. Do you have experience with ASD? What are the additions to defining PDD-NOS and Aspergers? Do you think the addition of the Social Comm Dis would alleviate the chance too many kids wouldn't get diagnosed?

Trying this again since the first time around it got mixed up.
Hello Abby. Complicated to say the least in my humble view. I see it as synergistic placing more relevance on social and those responsibilities. Reflecting what I see in a corner of 'mind' is kids playing in a classroom environment learning with sharing and play.
Popping up is emphasis on social psychology, either discipline or maybe both for perspective, while communication becomes less of a lock or more a key as variables seek developing gifts. Even though they still fall under categorizing linearly, from what I peered upon that is just way of books. Radial just may have been the inspiration in a group setting.
Having read the first question above and a few quick glances on the web I would suggest conferring with MIssolive for one and her hubs. Teaches12345 too and others. Missolive's son has a diagnosis and she is an educator with a high interest of teaching reading for one and constantly learning about Autism . Her hubs are recommended highly likened to what I see with those introduced at your home site.
However, mostly I thank you for presenting this question. The discovery with relevance personally is those changes discovered. Thanking you again for bringing this to my attention.

Thank you for your insight. I thought the topic was very important as the revision of the DSMV is due to be released in May. My son is also Autistic so I know the autsim community could use others input.

Most of my hubs that were moved to Soapboxie are in the correct category and sub-category which is Soapboxie»Social Issues»Poverty but two are in just Soapboxie»Social Issues. Who do I contact to get them put into the correct sub-category?"Poor Choices and Homelessness" and "Homeless...

How about a new sub category in the gardening category? A "plant propagation" sub category would categorize hubs dealing with all aspects of increasing stocks of plants e.g. sowing seeds, taking cuttings, layering, grafting, plant propagation equipment, etc

When choosing hub topic category and hub group, do they have to be consistent? For example, I put my latest hub in the "Food and Cooking - - - Quick and Easy Recipes - - - Quick and Easy Dinners - - - Quick and Easy Chicken Dinners" category. For hub group, I put it under...

Just some thoughts on the gardening category. It would be nice if a garden tools subcategory could be added. Having written a hub on this subject, I can't make up my mind whether the best option is to locate it in the hand tools category under home improvement or possibly in the garden design or...
