I sustained a full rupture of my left Achele's tendon. I had the option of surgery plus p.t., but two hungry nights in a row (yep, first surgeon wanted an MRI first, and even then thought serial casting, where a new cast is placed every 2 weeks with the foot positioned ever closer to 90% to the leg, eventually with a walkable "boot" cast for another month or so - all plus p.t. which, wait for it, is how I sustained the injury in the first place. Or, the door I walked from, surgery + pt + boot + walker. Different opinions as to the outcomes, time table and rerupture risk. Opinions?
